I sold all my Model 7’s and am now wishing I had not. I’ll build another Howa in a 223 simply because I couldn’t bear to have the twisted barrel on a Ruger Ranch. I would Ike to see a comparison between the HOWA mini and a Tikka ranch. Curious on total length and weight
I would take a Tikka in a 6.5CM and have it rechambered but I do not know if that is possible.
I assume it would mean cutting the factory barrel down from the action side. If someone has done this or knows if it’s possible. Please provide relevant information
Mine is EEEHHHH? Bought a brownells 20” action in 6.5grendel. Bedding it in a Stockys VG stock with Oregon bottom metal. Pic rail with Warne MT’s and a SWFA 2x10. Shoots 10 rounds into 1.5”. I’ve tried 5 different brands of ammo and it all generally shoots the same. So I wouldn’t call...
Picked up a pair of heated gloves off Amazon last year. They are made for motorcycle or snow mobile riders. Long mover the cuff and waterproof. Tried them in a pop up blind last week. They worked well and with just 5 mins of the power on I turned them off and hand were fine for the next...
This list has grown to include the Huron, Sightron 1x6 and a higher end scope I can;t recall the name of. It may have had poor glass at the highest magnification and I believe it was over $3K, but it had the reticle Form liked and passed the drop eval.

$1100. For a good upper. This gets you
Halfway.
Form had a good one he recommended on a MK12 clone I believe. If I recall the complete rifle was just over $2K but it...
I chased my tail trying to buy an AR upper that would shoot 5 under 1”. Very hard to do IMO. Bought a Larue upper and sold it. To finicky with ammo and only would shoot 1” one out if every 3 times. Ended up taking an old DPMS upper and put on a Wilson’s combat barrel and hand guard. Now...
Had one- liked it, but sold it due to weight and desire for a better reticle. The scope was just to large for a hunting rifle. 34MM main tube and dialing knobs large enough to cook an egg on. I prefer less bulk for hunting edible critters.

Doug here in the forum can answer questions.
Simmons whitetail after riding in a padded case on back of a 4 wheeler. I was low 18” and rt 6”. Lots of variables could have influenced the issue, scope seemed to be the easiest fix.
They sell bags that do not allow scent to permeate through them. Some people use a heavy trash bag and tie off the top. I have a roll top waterproof bag that doesn’t smell like rubber or plastic. I put my line dried cloths into it and when I get to camp
I tear off a cedar branch and drop it...
Scent free detergent. Scent eliminator spray. Scent free bags for all garments. Rubber boots
All tactics I use now hunting. Still wind direction is key.
I bought one on sale through Brownells for an older savage. I have zero flex in the forend. I do like the ergos much better than the Choate stock I have used. I do not believe it improved the accuracy of 2 different rifles I tried. Then again I had an Arken scope on the 223 and will be...
I have the “wants” real bad, however I must be maturing in my mid 50’s and instead of buying a new encore barrel or a new $4K thermal or build a 22 CM I plan on purchasing 3K rounds of ammo for practice.
I have purchased 1K rounds before and were delivered in 5 different lots of the same ammo...
I have this model scope for 15 years I believe. I like it as it stayed on my primary rifle a savage hog hunter in 308 since I bought it used. This was my # one option and I used the hold over reticle to 385 yards if memory serves. The svope was mounted with Warne splits rings on a Warne pic...
Sig 365X and S&W J frame scandium in 357 and a NAA 22 mag widow maker with extended grip
Sig - fits my hand well and more than enough rounds. Works well in winter months when I have a belt and jeans.
S&W.- crazy light weight and easy to carry. Have bird short for first round. Almost...
Are TC Encores accurate enough for 400 yards and in?
I am building a truck gun and have an Encore frame laying around. Goal is to leave rifle in truck year round. However, I will have the action in the cab and carry a 12ga barrel for bird hunting and a center fire for deer/hogs in the tool...
