I've been looking at the MR Front pack for my every-day pack here at the university. I don't drive around campus and walk to my meetings, so I like to keep my laptop along with some EDC essentials in my pack at all times. I just don't know how well the bladder sleeve will work as a laptop sleeve.
OnX all the way. The state specific chips are great, but the OnX Hunt app for your phone is even better if you download all the images for your unit first.

Well, I got my bow dropped off at the dealer, but they called me with bad news an hour later. They ordered the wrong limbs. They are calling Hoyt to get it taken care of, but it will be at least another week. Really bummed me out. Insult to injury, I am 5 weeks into a 4-6 week custom Spot...
Hoyt's are known to suffer from splintering on the edges of the limbs, but is the first report I've seen on the Defiant. 9 times out of 10, it has no effect on the bow, but if you are the original owner, Hoyt's warranty will take care of you.
I've had at least 4 splinters on my Vector Turbo...
I use Creepers from DayOne Camouflage. I had Gary make me up an insulated set in ASAT so I can use them here in MO for late season whitetail and for stalking elk.
I recommend moderate weight training to strengthen your knee muscles and especially your core for stability. I would also recommend trekking poles. I keep mine strapped to my pack most of the time unless I'm climbing or descending steep slopes. If you pack a bull out, they will be worth the...
Getting pelted by rain and hail sucks, but at least you got off that ridge in time. Lightning is not something I would take a chance on either. Keep after it.
Be sure to give us a review when you can on those new binos.

The shortest arrow I am personally comfortable with is 27.25 from throats of nock to end of insert and I also have a 29 inch draw. In the end, an extra 25 grains of weight up front ain't that much. The easiest way to figure this out is to put on a 125 grain field point and bareshaft tune to...
You have the same bow and specs as I do and ArchersAdvantage shows 330 spine as way too weak. 280 spine 4mm FMJ injections would be perfect and if you cut them 28 inches carbon to carbon, you can safely run up 210 grains up front for 16% FOC, 575 grains total weight around 275 fps. That...
I'm surprised that boar from the previous day didn't make an appearance. Ugh, keep at it. We are cheering for ya. Meanwhile, I'm watching your latest Q&A. That's some good stuff.

Regarding your concerns on arrow length, if you are using a full containment rest that is mounted behind your shelf such as a QAD, Ripcord, Hamskea, Whisker Biscuit, etc, then you can safely shoot an arrow up to 2 inches smaller than your draw length. You have to remember that AMO DL is...
I can help you with those questions.
Spine indexing is where the nock and fletching are indexed to the stiff or "heavy" side of the shaft. This stiff side is where the seams of the carbon create a spot down the length of the shaft that is denser and stiffer than the rest of the shaft...
Ugh. I've been dealing with this lately too. I just put on a set of strings over the weekend and despite the fact that they were built to Hoyt's exact specifications on the tune chart, it turns out that most string builders build the buss cable 1/16th to 1/8th short and the control cable 1/8th...
I saved a boatload on archery supplies with the instant rebate and Rokslide discount. I forgot about the free cap though.

CampDry waterproofing spray or something similar will work, but I feel it reduces the breathability. The Quests are a great boot as is and cover over 99% of my needs, but I ain't going to lie.....I just want the Crispi Summits. I'm a big fan of Camofire, BlackOvis, and all of the support...
Definitely upgrade to an insulated pad. You easily loose 10 degrees or more of your bag rating through the ground without an insulated pad. I use an insulated Klymit Static V and double that up with the Thermarest Z-pad when it's stupid cold. I also sleep cold and sleep with my baselayers and...
If you want 80lb limbs, I say go for it. Talk to your dealer and have him order you a set. Then sell your 70 lb limbs for most of what you paid for new ones if the current ones are in good shape. Bows are expensive and you should get exactly what you want, nothing less.
Although, it could...
The Salomon Quests are a step up above the Pronghorns. The Quests are light and decently supportive without being too stiff. I wish they had better waterproofing as my feet do get damp crossing shallow streams or trekking through wet tall grass all day, but they are still better than the...
