First Lite Sanctuary series with your current base and mid layers. Hunting from a nice stand is great, but nothing beats hunting comfortably. First Lite is running a great sale now.
If you are looking to cut the wind on the cheap, then I would recommend a breathable rain jacket.

I concur with Tria153, I would rather have a used 1-2 year old flagship bow than a current entry level or mid-range bow. The flagships are worth it, even if they are a couple of years old as they still have smoother draws and more speed than the current entry and mid level bows.
Buying used...
I bought one last year. My wife took it and uses it to stay warm at my son's soccer games. It packs up really small and fits in her purse. I'll have to buy another one for myself next time I'm at Costco.

I used the ASAT bow hunters jacket last year to great success. I don't think the quality was any where near as good as my First Lite gear, but it has all the features that I found lacking in the North Branch jacket. It is light enough to pack, warm enough at 30 degrees while moving, has put...
For someone just getting started, I would recommend downloading a copy of the Nuts and Bolts of Archery from the stickie on ArcheryTalk if you just want something to read. Otherwise, invest in a good bow press and build a draw board. Once you learn to time cams, set draw length, and yoke tune...
I was in the same situation last year. Drink a ton of water and take it easy the first day or two. When in doubt, drink more water.

I browse through GB podcasts on Youtube and watch the episodes that look interesting to me. I skipped the one on technology and hunting, but I just watched the one with Jason Phelps elk calling last night. Some episodes are awesome, others are just stuff I don't care about. All in all, I've...
I drink a lot of water before I hit the sack along with a couple of Motrin PM. I typically wake up an hour before sunrise. I usually have to race back to the tent to turn off my iPhone alarm.
The 300 spine arrows will tune fine, your Hoyt is just in desperate need of yoke tuning and possibly cam timing. Moving the rest will only get you so close. If you don't have a decent shop near you, I would recommend buying your own press and building your own draw board. Tuning your own bow...
This day by day format is awesome and I appreciate all the hard work you, your crew, and sponsors have put into sharing your wealth of knowledge with us. Its always great to see a guy triumph and tag out, but showing us your mistakes and how we can avoid them or learn from them is more helpful...
I used two pairs for ten days last year and I thought they did well. I've got some 100% merino Icebreaker boxers as well, but they stretch out after one day and they ride up like crazy. After a day of wear, the odor is not any different than the Core4Element boxers I have. Face it, no set of...
I like the 50/50 merino blend Core4Element boxers. Black Ovis sells them as the Black Ovis brand now. I found them to be plenty long and they don't ride up, bunch, or stretch out. They also don't hold odor despite being a blended merino material. Lastly, I really like the price and found...
Black Ovis has the best deal, especially if you use the Rokslide10 discount code. Lancaster Archery Supply carries them as well. Last but not least, is SouthShore Archery Supply. Don't forget to get the Zing glue and primer pen. I know the new batches of Flex Fletch vanes say they don't need...
I slip my gps into the elastic sleeves on the top of the lid of my AGC harness. I also use the belt clip on my Delorme Inreach to clip onto the webbing going across each shoulder strap. If I'm bow hunting, the Delorme goes on my right side since I shoot my bows left handed. If I'm rifle...
I do all my own tuning and the most important factors for me are having the correct draw length, proper cam timing and synchronization, and then proper draw weight. The ATA is whatever it is when I am done tuning. So if the mods on your bow are set for 29 inches and the limbs are supposed to...
I have used all 3 and I prefer OT2 even though I am currently using the online version of AA. I will not be renewing my subscription to AA and will be going back to OT2 next year. They all work well, but everyone has their own preferences.
