Yes kennels are a great training tool but most importantly they are a pups bedroom/car seat/safe space. Within the month of bringing a pup home you’ll be like, “wtf. Where’s my pup at,” just to find him napping in his kennel.
A home kennel can be too big but a travel kennel only needs to be big...
There’s no question that the grooming requirements are greater for a spaniel than any other hunting breed. But I’ve always just considered it a bonding moment.
A “field” cut is basically removing all feathering especially ears, feet and arm pits. Then short up top and thick underneath. Their...
I really miss sitting in the hotel room watching football and plucking all the burrs out my Brittany. Somewhat of a pain but with the exception of prickly pear they never slowed her down in the field. Prickly pear is a show stopper but we both learned quickly how to avoid those.
Met a dude...
I’m pretty sure Falconry is still practiced in most of the world, especially the ME where it was invented.
I’d love to hear your reasoning for why it should be outlawed. You do realize once trained they can fly off at anytime??
I’ve run into plenty and just sort of wave as I walk by.
I did find one in a burn zone. The tree had mostly burnt and then fell over smashing the cam to bits. Then about a 100 yards away sitting on top of some ash was a SIM card in perfect shape with some really nice white tails on it, both...
I think wearing a mask is about as stupid as the TSA.
But if it makes the sheeple “feel” safe and gets businesses open and people back to work I’ll happily wear one. Just like I stand in that stupid TSA line to get on a plane.
I think that depends on the water source. I’ve never owned a filter but where I hunt and hike clear running water is readily available. Steripen is perfect for me especially while on the move. Now if my water source was a pond or cattle trough I’d definitely use a filter.
I boil, use tablets...
I’d find an OLD used hull from a quality manufacturer and slap a new outboard in it. I prefer Suzuki’s but all of the newer outboards are pretty good now. Get it hung by a local shop so preventative maintenance is easy and convenient.
I believe the packages are three days which is based off possession limits and how many fish boxes they can stuff in a 737.
Go early and either hike or fly into an alpine lake with a FS cabin for the first few nights. Rough it the first half of the trip and lap of luxury to end it.
I’ve...
I’ve never fished with Rob in Ak but shared many days on the river with him when he guided Wa. One of the few guides who didn’t annoy the piss out of me. In fact he’s a super easy guy to like. He’s a great story teller and one of the hardest working guides I know. This is a great recommendation!
Been here many times. Best friend is heading up today with his boy. I may have to tag along next year. Best operation in Sitka!

So stuffed in the fish box under the rowers seat wasn’t optimal :).
I’m actually stunned the zippers still work now that I think about it. May be the best performing clothing product I’ve ever purchased.
After a decade of hard use I need to retreat the goretex. Still keeps my dry from rain but sweat doesn’t exit as well as it once did. Also doesn’t dry out completely overnight.
But when I say a decade of hard use I’m talking rainforest inches of rain day after day of hard use and it’s held up...
