Just got this piece and I’m trying to figure out where it fits into everyone’s system. Over or under a fleece layer? The arms are so snug that I’m not sure how it would go over any other layers. I’m curious to get some opinions.

Also, we didn’t hear a single bugle either, we went for the season opener before the rut really started. During the early season if you can find areas where elk are, you can get on them just by glassing and patterning them. We didn’t do any calling except light cow calls to bring elk into range...
Nope, neither of us had ever been west of PA, or seen elk in person prior to this trip. it’s certainly not easy, but if you’re willing to put in the work scouting, training, hiking, shooting longer distances you shouldn’t have an issue at the very least getting into bow range on elk. Whether or...
If you’re a decent hunter and aren’t too picky about which elk to take, elk hunting isn’t that difficult with a bow in the early season. My friend and I traveled from PA to CO this past August with no elk hunting experience and were within bow range of elk every single day. Be patient, learn...
I live in eastern Pennsylvania, about as far from the Rocky Mountains as you can get, and a friend told me about Rokslide when I decided I wanted to pursue hunting the West. He told me about the deals on the classified ads, and the valuable information available on the site from some of the best...
I have a Woodbury Jacket in Cipher camo Size medium, but I’d prefer it in fusion because I’m OCD and like things to match. Message me if you’re looking to swap. It’s in flawless condition and only a few months old.

Selling my North Branch soft shell jacket. Fusion camo, size medium. Great condition, no tears or stains, I took great care of this piece but a soft shell doesn’t have a place in my system anymore.
$150 TYD in the lower 48. Open to reasonable offers and trades for other First Lite gear like...
I personally don’t have any experience with KUIU. I will say that I’ve heard mostly good things about the Peloton line but mostly bad things about KUIU as a company. I can’t speak to that from experience though.

That’s interesting. I think First Lite has definitely improved the fit of their garments lately because I haven’t experienced any of those proportion or durability issues, but the Sitka is also a great piece for sure.

I can’t speak to that, I have no experience with that piece. But as far as the build it appears to be similar to the Halstead just from the pictures I’ve seen.

Here is my comparison of the two top fleece layers in hunting right now. Both solid options, the hood gives the Sitka version the edge for me but I like the feel of the First Lite version better.
Also, a less expensive alternative for us Camofire types. Which of these fleeces do you guys...
Merino will never be more durable unless it’s a blend, that’s the nature of the beast unfortunately. That’s the major downfall. Good, comfortable merino won’t be durable.
