While scouting a pronghorn tag with a buddy yesterday (7/28/24) we ran across this muley in Washoe county. With the state of Nevada's mule deer it was a pleasant surprise to see him.
Archery season is almost here, so post those Nevada bucks you've seen in 2024.
Swans are awesome to hunt. Shot quite a few in Nevada and helped more people than that.
Decoying swans is the best. Lets you pick our a mature bird and almost eliminates the chance of a cripple. Crippled swans can go FOREVER and it's a sad sight to see.
Buddy and I shot two out of a flock...
Spring bear and archery pronghorn every year. Fall bear if you are unsuccessful in the spring.
Plenty of small game and waterfowl depending on where you're moving to.
Obviously mule deer, whitetails, and elk would be included in your sportsman's package.
You'll also want to look in...

As it goes for much of the state, buy a bear tag.
I have seen wolf tracks there, but not in the flesh. I have see lots of elk tracks and we have a couple elk on cameras, but not on the hoof either.
There's some good deer in there.
Their eyes are so good that if they see movement, good luck. Earth tones or a white t-shirt (to attract them) work fine.
All of my pronghorn have been with a rifle, so I just pick a shirt and go.
Small spreads can be deadly. These are the three things that are most important in my opinion:
1. Learn to scout
2. Learn to hide and become invisible.
3. Learn to set a decoy spread correctly.
There's nothing like a flock of birds committing to your spread because that's where they...
Feral horses and pronghorn go hand in hand in Nevada, yet the population grows while mule deer dwindle.
Part of me wonders how hunting drives the population too. We have limited HSTE hunts and manage most of our units for trophy potential. Even the units where there are lots of buck tags the...
