Consider one of those orange and silver emergency survival blankets to replace a tarp for butchering. That's what I used on my fall 2017 trip. It was a smaller, lighter package and worked very well. I used one as a ground cloth under my pad in the floorless shelter too.
I put this on a .280 so it would fit my daughter. She harvested several deer/hogs/turkeys but has now grown into the full sized stock so this one is for sale. $75 paypal you pay the fees. I'll pay USPS shipping. Sling studs not included. Direct contact is seven one three two five nine nine...
We saw caribou every day, not huge numbers though. Mostly small groups of 2-7. I have not hunted the 40 Mile herd but my research agrees that a person would see more caribou per day in that area.
It was a military surplus pouch I rigged to hang from my chest strap between my frame pack chest straps. Seemed like a great idea but took too long to buckle up when I was putting my pack on.
I decided that I wanted the gun in my hands at all times. No good way to sling it for quick access on my pack. So with the gun in my hands, the swinging sling kept grabbing brush, my belt, and anything else it could find.
Can't say enough about how impressed we were with Cole Hawkins' operation on this hunt. All his equipment is clean and appears to be well maintained. He knows the area like the back of his hand and flies extremely well but safely. Cole was very accommodating to all our requests and helped us...
I am here and it's bad. Really cranking this morning.
On a positive note: my wife and the Girl Scout troop she leads fed venison tamales to a large group of evacuees at a shelter yesterday.
Outdoorsmen from around the area are coming out of the woodwork to rescue people that are trapped by...
Most bush pilots ask you to leave the hard case in their hangar. Guns fly to camp in the bushplane stacked on top of luggage, without a case, or sometimes in a soft case.
Thank you!
I got 10 emails and a mailer from REI about their 20% off one item sale. Went to the store, got to checkout, and was told it didn't apply to GPS's.
Came home and ordered through backcountry.com with no shipping and no sales tax!
Do you depressurize the fuel bottle and remove the fuel pump between morning and evening cook sessions on a multi day hunt?
Just got mine and am enjoying it so far. Didn't see any guidelines about leaving it pressurized in the manual. Probably not necessary but thought I'd ask you all.
Thanks.
Wow, that was the plane and pilot that took us to camp. I can't believe there is already footage up...
What date did this occur? We flew to camp on the 14th and came out on the 29th (different plane).
We were not on that flight.
Thanks. We were dropped on the lake. My partner is a 2nd generation butcher. We were back in camp 4 hours after he shot with the bull quartered, packed out, and tarped off at the LZ. Mine (from the video) took maybe an hour longer because he had to stop cutting to go load his bull on the meat...
