Sheep along the arm and other areas of the park are accustomed to seeing humans, vehicles, etc but it doesnt change the fact these animals a nutritionally stressed this time of year. 14c sheep have enough working against them. I think the arm in Winter is the wrong spot for this, not to mention...
I bet you're right. There is going to be a lot of two man teams carrying a bow and a rifle heading in for the new opener. Great for business if you own a Archery shop in AK, this will be a nice shot in the arm.
You must do a fair amount of foot traveling. I have a few pair ready to go back with the worn out heel as well. Shipping worn out socks back to the manufacturer hasnt been on the top of my to do list but I will get around to it.
I have removed leg bottom sections from a Slik 624 CF Pro that I hunt with. I also have a Gitzo 3530LS and a Gitzo 2531, neither of which I use for hunting but the bottom leg sections would be removable if desired. I think most twist lock tripods will allow for removing legs. Best of luck

Having the ability to point a leg vertical doesnt hurt, especially in sheep terrain. Pretty tough to beat this combo for lightweight function. The lower leg sections are removed and the beauty of the twist lock is they go back on eliminating any exposed carbon rod, there is a nice rubber buffer...
