I think one of the biggest problems with the first ones was that FOV is absolutely abysmal (3.8 degrees/219ft@1,000yds) and the pro is somehow even worse (3.7 degrees/214ft@1,000yds)
14x NL Pure is 279ft@1,000yds for reference.
I'm not seeing a use case for any of these.
The 10x doesn't...
Does anybody smarter than me have any experience with the compact Sig LRF binos?
I'm not willing to take a two year break from hunting so $3-$5k for binos is never gonna happen, and I'm pretty sure that bad LRF binos are more useful than good 8x or 10x glass, so where I'm at is basically, what...
The Kifaru is honestly the first I've ever seen that doesn't have tethers integrated to the shoulder harness.
FHF, Marsupial, SG, Sitka, Mystery Ranch, Eberlestock, Alaska Guide Gear, even the junky Vortex all have them built in.
They send a .xlsx with a tidy list of whatever you asked for with an occasional redaction. They wouldn't give me Bighorn draw info this year, for example.
Process is very simple. I used to have to do a whole rigamarole with paperwork but they have a website now.
Search "TPWD Open Records...
Just got my FOIA request for this year back from TPWD for number of applicants and point totals, etc. After crunching some numbers here's a little taste of the data from 3 of the areas I apply to every year. I'll list them at 1 point, my points, and max points.

I have the lswild tac table and it works great for me.
It’s like 5x5 inches and super sturdy, weighs 5.5 ounces with the grip tape I added and an arca plate on the bottom.
It comes with a smooth top and strap loops so you have options on how you put a bag on. I have zero complaints.
No idea what the OP went with but if you’re in the same boat as they were, check out the Came-TV 701b.
Those things are incredible for the price. Not exactly a Sachtler or Miller but they’re sleepers in the broadcast world for basically pennies by comparison.
My favorite part was the 338 guy put basically all ten shots in the exact same spot, never made a wind correction based on the splash (probably didn’t even see it at 25x magnification), and then said he missed because the bullet wasn’t concentric in the bore.
The 300 Norma guy flinching with...
15 pro is half an ounce lighter, and uses usbc to charge which is one less cord to carry so that’s a plus. It also has a slightly larger sensor area so marginally better photo/video in low light.
The 3nm silicon a17 is (again marginally) faster than the a16 in the pro 14.
On the other hand...
It has 5 leg sections that each have an internal friction lock, but in the collapsed position you can only physically twist the bottom section.
This means that the force you apply to the bottom section is (more or less evenly) distributed amongst all the sections at once, unlocking each...
The design pretty much requires that you twist to unlock all 5 sections, pull them all out, then just lock the ones you want to stay out. I’ve had zero issues with mine, but I always unlock all the legs at once and just know that I can’t pick which leg comes out first.
Cascade mountain aluminum poles are solid.
The all-carbon fiber poles all break eventually. There’s a reason sissy stix/peax are hybrid with aluminum lower sections.
You’re asking a lot.
I just shot a whole NRL Hunter match off of a Sirui AT-125 and kneeling/sitting it was usable.
Standing though, not great.
I don’t know of any lightweight tripods that will be sturdy at 60+ inches tall.
