I like them when it is cooler than 60 degrees, anything above that and I’m wearing the Kutana. The Kutana are my favorite pants, better than the Attack in every way aside from being a little thinner.
Looks like you can go with either size, gay boy. 😂
I generally wear mine in colder weather and prefer the slightly snug but not tight fit. I was between sizes in L and XL, went with XL. Fits well under jackets without binding in the sleeves. Works great with a Sitka lightweight long sleeve crew...
TBAC Dominus CB has been great on my 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5 PRC. It is a shorter suppressor but has a 1.7” OD to increase the volume. Noticeably quieter than my Sandman K.
Honestly, I’d probably look at a quality guided hunt and see if there is an outfitter that can get you on the type of buck you’d be happy with.
I think getting out there during the season would be a great idea before applying if there is a lot of public or you’re dead set on DIY.
I had a...
Usually about 8-10 when backpack hunting, think I took 27 on our horseback hunt. Had three in the mag, 4 extra in the pack, threw a 20 round box in my duffle.
Glad I took some extra. Horse beat the crap out of my rifle on the way in and I had to check my zero. Thankful to be shooting suppressed...
The grizzly situation is wild in Western WY. Hunted in a very remote wilderness area last month that is known for the wolves and bears. He went back in after I left and they had lots of bear action.
Four years ago, I got split up from my buddy and killed an archery bull solo. It was sketchy...
Surprised there are so many luddites in this thread.
The only regret that I have is not getting a suppressor 10+ years ago. I have a TBAC Dominus that adds less than 6” and 9.5 oz to the rifle. It’s best on a 20” barrel but I just hunted in the Wyoming backcountry with a 24” 6.5 PRC without...
I personally like a balance between arrow durability, forgiveness of the build/tune, and speed.
I’ve shot 450-525 grains out of my 28.5” 84# draw Prime CT3. 475-505 is probably the best all around setup for me, preferably with a 5mm arrow and Iron Will components. Speed is 275-280 fps per my...
I hunted with Dennis Zadra and Lonesome Dove Outfitters two years ago. Had a great experience and would go with them again. Most of the hunts are September and October there. The hair on my goat was great, I killed it on 9/20.
If you want to hunt late season, BC or Kodiak are probably better...
For a down bag, I use Western Mountaineering. Feathered Friends and Enlightened Equipment are other good choices.
Hard to understand buying a non-US or Canada made bag as long as those companies exist.
If you want synthetic, go with a Kifaru Slick bag.
It is not needed but it will be a lot more comfortable than a regular tent. The last time that I hunted 2nd Rifle our low temps were -10 F. Had quite a bit of snow, too. We were glad to have the Sawtooth with a stove.
Sounds like you’ve spent a lot of money for this trip already. I’d just roll...
I’ve camped a lot during archery antelope season in August and September. Generally use my floorless shelter but have used tents as well. I haven’t had any issues with snakes, I think I’d choose the tent to help prevent dust getting on everything more than keeping snakes out.
That’s a long walk, I think I’d want a saddle horse. I’m sure you know this, but you’re looking at 10+ miles to the top of Deer Creek Pass, and another 8-10 miles to get into the trail systems that shoot off into other drainages.
It’s actually perfectly legal. WY allows a “resident guide” to take two non-resident hunters per season. You have to fill out a form at a WY Game & Fish office but it’s free.
They will ask you questions to ensure the relationship is not a transactional one in nature and that you do in fact know...
I’ve made mistakes like this when flying domestically on trips. Fortunately have not had any major issues with TSA.
I now have bags/luggage that are only used for non-hunting travel. It’s very easy to lose a round or two of ammo.
Weird things happen, especially when rushing for a trip. TSA let...
What distance are you shooting and how far are the broadheads grouping from the field points?
Pretty normal for a minor tune change after a new set of strings.
