Anyone tried that everlywell home kit yet, and know what their turnaround time is? Montana is backed up on testing results, and I’m looking at 5 days to get results. The Everlywell test says 72 hours from the time the sample arrives. With overnight shipping, if they post results at the end of...
I’m selling a like new pair of salewa vultures, size 12. I got them a couple months ago, and have only put 10 miles on or so. I just wasn’t a fan of a full sole boot. I have three other pairs of different salewas and love their boots, but this model was just too stiff for me. $210 shipped
Lots of great advice! I moved to MT four years ago and have been fortunate enough to kill a couple bulls in central Montana since then. I read a ton on forums and learned as much as I could from those and maps. Once you have what you think is a good area to try, reach out to the area biologist...
125s worked well for me! Shot a bull quartering to me, entered behind the shoulder and went all the way to the back leg and broke the leg. Love the penetration
Agreed on the soaking! Let it soften up for as long as it takes, and then boil. Sometimes I’ll add a little oxy clean. Stuff eats away quick and leaves it white so be careful not to get on antlers
Gorgeous country! Hard to believe some of that pristine land can hold little to no deer. Keep at er and next trip will be all the more rewarding. I’m sure it’ll still be a lifelong memory of a great trip 😁
I’ve used the 980s for three years now, and have loved them. But with them getting wore out I did order the wasatch a few weeks back. The 980s were a little tight at the front, and going down steep stuff my toes got beat up bad so I went up 1/2 size with the wasatch and they were too big on me 🤔...
I found an old Milwaukee shed hunting a couple years back and traced the label to the mid 70s. Still unopened. I’m assuming that’ll be my worst if I ever go for it 🤨
All depends on what you're looking to shoot. If you're looking for a certain size bull, and in a glassable area, then a spotter would be beneficial. For me, with my binos I can see if it's a bull or not, and if it's a bull, then I'm going after it!
All of region 7 is a good option. I've hunted down by Ekalaka/alzada/broadus, all the way up to Terry and Glendive. Lots of mule deer and exactly the country they like. Like moose drool said, there's a lot of road hunters so if you're willing to get off the roads and get a few hills in you're...
