    WTT 1000D CB Organizer

Looking to trade a brand new, never used CB Kifaru organizer pocket (1000d) for a WG organizer (either 1000d or 500d). Purchased but never used it, and a few months later decided to switch to WG. Pm me if interested.

    Guide lid questions

Just received my new guide lid (in record time) and was a bit surprised that the webbing doesn't line up with the malice clips on the organizer pocket. Which leads to the obvious question: Has anyone found a way to attach either 1000d or 500d organizer pockets to a guide lid? I've got a 1000d...

Any tips on removing scent from a pack?

Had the same situation with an old express I purchased from another member. Smelled of cats and fabreeze or something. Soaked it in a tub with baking soda--one of the main ingredients in scent blocker--for hours and it did nothing. Then I washed it with odorless detergent and baking soda and it...

    Day pack meat haulable

Why not consider a mystery ranch Pinter or Stone glacier solo, each with the right capacity for a day pack and detachable with a load shelf so you can carry a dry bag or meat bag between the pack and frame. Also, the SG is super light.

    Leupold VX-3i 20% off

Just picked one up from B&H photo, and before I pressed purchase, I clicked on a link that said "Request Lower Price" (or something like that, entered my email address, and received an email with a link to the same lens (vx-3i, 2.5-8x36) for ~20% off ($319 instead of $399). Not sure if they're...

    Training with your pack

I used 50lbs of rock salt, the chemicals from which leaked through the bag and dissolved the water coating inside the backpack. I bet there's a solvent added to the salt. Anyway now I keep it in trash compactor bags inside the pack.

    EDC / BOB approach?

I live in a big, essentially pedestrian-only city, and there's a pharmacy on every other corner and always a hospital not more than a five minute walk away. So, my edc is tailored for the kinds of low-level inconveniences I'm likely to encounter but would prefer not to step into the local...

    Removing stink from boots

Remove and wash the insoles in the washing machine. Soak cotton balls with rubbing alcohol, drench the inside of the shoe, and let evaporate. Put baking soda in the shoes, seal them in ziplock bags, and freeze them overnight. Repeat....

The wife says I can't go alone.

Renting a satellite phone or personal locator beacon with text messaging capabilities can go a very long way in these kinds of situations. And it's in your interest too. The first time I went on a solo hunt and was out of reach for 10 days I came back and my wife had purchased a new apartment...

    Gift for a host

Whether you show up with a high quality range finder--which he can enjoy or give away or sell, if he has another--or choose to send something he needs later, don't show up emptyhanded. Even a small, symbolic gift goes a long way.

Attaching Exo 5500 bag to Kifaru frame

A variation on the now popular Exo-on-Kifaru thread, but has anyone tried to attach the Crib Load Panel to the hunting duplex (or any other Kifaru frame for that matter). Seems like a fair and cost-effective compromise between a grab-it and cargo panel. Also, it might be an interesting day-hunt...

    Hunter Orange Grab-it II

Arrived last night and I attached it to an X-Ray, on which it covers the entire back of the pack. Seems very well made. Will post photos attached to a Tarryall on a scouting trip next week.
