Most durable leather boots? Schnees, Kenetrek, Hoffman or Crispi?

And I don’t hunt as many days nor do I use them in the same ways as my buddies. I do elk hunting and deer. I haven’t done lion, sheep or goat. I may but that doesn’t factor in as I haven’t yet. FYI I’m leaning toward a Schnees Granite or Kenetrek Mountain Extreme but want to hear of others...

Most durable leather boots? Schnees, Kenetrek, Hoffman or Crispi?

Currently using Salomon, Rocky, Under Armour and Crispi depending on use case. All synthetic . I’m now looking at adding some leather boots. Need two pairs both insulated and non insulated. I’m hard on gear. All four makers fit me. I’m slightly narrow but generally fit well with all...

    WTS/WTT SCAMMER

Sorry to hear about this guy. Candidly, this is why I have ended up donating gear instead of tryomg to sell it and why I buy new stuff instead of through classifieds. I just don’t have the time to deal with a scam nor the inherent trust necessary to transact. This reinforces my general...

Which binoculars are just step down from the best of the best?

I think optics are getting closer and closer in terms of quality. The only area where I see a big difference as you go up in price are rangefinder binoculars. The Vortex, Sig, Nikon and GPO RFs seem to be a big step down from the Zeiss, Leica and Swarovski Comparable. But, in normal...

Which binoculars are just step down from the best of the best?

You might want to try Tract Toric. I‘ve been told that the Tract, Zeiss Conquest, Sig Zulu 7 and Maven B1 are all made in the same factory in Japan with the same glass but different coating. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong. Just like the Sig Zulu 9 and Maven B2 are made with...

Rangefinding binos VS Regular. Are you sacrificing optical quality??

my eyes arent good enough to let me notice much if any difference in the alpha glass. I personally like the new Zeiss RF binos better than the EL or Geovid. But i can’t tell much difference with the Zeiss RF versus the Victory SF or the EL and other non-RF alphas. if you can swing it, the...

    Choosing Merino Wool Base Layers

LLBean is softest and most durable I’ve found and I tried 9-10 brands. WoolX is almost as soft and is the warmest ever. WoolX Runs a little short. But it’s awesome!

    Sitka pack question

    Pack for a bad back?

Broke my back. Had surgery to repair it in 2015. I have found with the right pack shifting weight to my hips, I can carry weight. But it’s personal. You have to get fitted. And good to go slow. Good luck.
