A few years ago after a super hot fire in Colorado, ‘they’ were tracking collared elk and it showed the elk moving in right behind the fire, before it was even really out.
Ha!
Thought the same thing…thanks for the clarification!
That looks pretty smokey.
Locating will be what it is..if you can’t glass well, you’ll likely have a tough time locating deer.
As far as the smoke, I think it’s personal.
My buddy and I were in really thick CO smoke a few years ago…like...
When I flew SW fron CO to IL with my bow, they’d toss my SKB case on a cart, right in front of the unchecked exit doors and it would just sit there until i guess some baggage mover eventually picked it up.
Additionally, after I arrived at my destination, I’d eventually find my bow case sitting...

I’ve fought true Colorado pack rats for years before I demoed and built a new house in the same spot.
If there’s one, there are more.
Protect your vehicle if possible, they chew the shit out of wiring.

Shed hunting, is my happy place.
It’s kinda weird…
I’ve arrowed over a dozen elk, same for deer and I just love the feeling more, walking up on a big shed set vs. a dead elk with a big set.
I dream about elk shed hunting, not hunting elk.
My dog cornered a skunk once, didn’t know what he was barking at because it was at night and in rural CO mountains.
Skunks are not common here.
Anyway, I go running out expecting a bear or lion and out pops this skunk from the culvert.
Just so happened a lid to a tote was blown into the creek...
Yup
Wife had a loaner car from her insurance company when her car was in the shop for a no fault accident claim.
Hail storm hit our house in the foothills and that POS rental jeep thing got dinged up and we had to pay for the damages….act of god, they said, lol.
Insane hail is the norm, just...
