I've admired RRS equipment (from a distance) for a long time. For now, I need (want) to spend my money elsewhere (rifle, optics, etc.) and I'll go for a less-expensive option for now.
Does anyone know which brands of ball heads and fluid heads use an Arca Swiss plate?
The discussion about ARCA plate compatibility seems quite common here. And if possible, I'd love to use Arca across everything.
Maybe someday when I'm bored, have time, or just submit to my ADD, I'll pour...
So I've been looking at different tripod heads for my Slik CF-634 paired with a Sirui ball head which I'm going to love because of how light this setup is compared to my Manfrotto (which was purchased and used solely for photography, mind you.)
I'm loath to spend a lot of money on this but was...
Why no Harris? Not native or already gone south? (I've seen them before in Texas and other southwest states. Beautiful bird.
Coincidentally, I saw your reply as I drove past the "International Falconry Academy" near Live Oak, FL while traveling for work.
I appreciate the insight. I can look...
I appreciate all the replies. What a lot to think about!
There has been a development in the case, though! I've been too caught up in that to keep you posted but a company called me and hired me. Increased travel but also significantly increased salary. It puts me in a more professional...
I've always been a fan of observing raptors, especially during migration where many can be seen in one day from one vantage point. I grew up in such a spot in southern Ontario.
I was curious what type of raptors I might expect in the fall in Wyoming?
I understand the migration begins at...
Used a bore snake on a 22LR barrel yesterday. I did not put much oil on it at all so that may be the problem but holy cow, I thought it was going to break or at least get stuck. (I'm glad I didn't let the other end go through the breach or I think I'd have had a real problem. I put some more...
Eastern NC here. North of @def90 a little way if he's near Wilmington. We have so much inshore, brackish water in this area, the fishing opportunities are fantastic. You can be fishing for flounder, redfish (red drum, channel bass, reds), spotted seatrout (aka "trout" or "speckled trout")...
I've read a lot of people use yoga mats for gun cleaning stations. I want to make sure the solvents don't go through the pad as I do this at my desk in the house. Has anyone done this? The one I bought is probably 1/8" thick from Walmart for $8.88 and is made of "PVC foam".
For what it's worth...
Do a search on eBay for that camera model. On PC or app, there's a way to filter results, look for that and select "More Options". There is a checkbox to select for "SOLD ITEMS". That will display auctions that ended resulting in that sold item. Works well! Quite a range of prices for items...
I don't know what this is about - I'm coming here on the last page but the few people I've heard about that didn't have a Grandpa (other than Jesus) include Cain, Abel, and Seth. ;)
I've been using these for a while now. I like them a lot. I think they are brighter than my WalMart/Energizer ones.
Thanks to having to get a link for this thread, I realized they sell a 2-pk , discounted about 15% from a single. I can now replace the two in my shopping cart with this two-pack...
