For you guys that are “permanently” bonding your rails to the action, what do you do as far as torquing the screws? I’ve always bedded my rails using a release agent and just snugged up the screws until the bedding cured. Then I’d come back and clean up all the release agent, Loctite the screws...
Rumor has it there was a glitch in the tag sale Tuesday. That’s why the DAV tags were gone so quickly. Sounds like emails will be going out tomorrow showing tags for sale but you can check here to see if your unit will have tags available.

Tikka T3X super lite in 6.5 Creedmoor. Factory 24” fluted barrel. Area 419 20 MOA rail. Seekins low rings and a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42. Weight 7lbs 14 oz. A McMillan Game Scout added 1oz.
It says this model is “assembled in the Philippines” where as the RS 1.2 say “Made in Japan”. That alone would curb my expectations of this performing similarly.
I wholeheartedly agree that most people overestimate their maximum range. Last year’s Cold Bore Challenge demonstrated that in spades.
To play a bit of devil’s advocate here though, in the spirit of this challenge you are sort of “forced” to take the shot. Not comfortable with your position and...
It’s been awhile now but seems like it was about a month or so after mine was in inletting. Worth the wait though. Probably my favorite stock that I’ve used to date!
Does that just apply to removing a factory barrel? Would you use an internal action wrench to remove a barrel that was torqued on to say 80-90 ft lbs or are you going external any time you’re removing a barrel?
Yeah, I’m following that one just to see what comes of Scott. So bizarre to just rip everyone off like that after 20+ years of what sounds like a pretty stellar track record.
And yes, Shamus and Scott (from Vortex) have done so much to clean up a mess they didn’t even make. It’s really been...
Thanks for posting this heads up. I hadn’t ordered from Liberty Optics before but had thought about it a number of times as Scott had some screaming deals.
The way Vortex handled that mess was absolutely amazing!! I know we sort of pile on them (and some other manufacturers) about how they do...
I think there’s 3 reasons that Leupold not only survives, but thrives. One, most hunters don’t even know where their rifle is zeroed. “2 inches high at 100 yards is dead on at 200 yards”! Is it? Are you exactly 2” high? Or is it 1.8”? Is it dead on at 200? Or is it zeroed at 211? Or 217? Most...
You would need a comparator and some dial calipers. There may be other ways to measure but that’s what I use. What you’re looking at is how much shoulder bump you’re getting (if any) once you’ve sized your brass versus the shoulder measurement on a fired piece.
Yes there is. Like mentioned above, Unknown Munitions in Idaho used to offer this service. Not sure if they still do. May depend on what components you need/want to use.
