I have different loads for each of my rifles target vs. hunting
I only ever carry one load when hunting, I figured large game or small the accubond isn't going to care. Just have to have proper shot placement IMO, but whatever works for a person is great!
It would only be survival situation...
Mt50 is good stuff, I'm wearing the full set in my pic.
It's really heavy and takes up lots of room in the pack. Really durable though, I sold mine to upgrade and it was still in mint condition after years of use
I also found for hunting I don't bother with the paper tune anymore, straight to broad head tuning. I got my field tips and shuttle ts hitting together at 60yds this year, couldn't be happier!
I went from a trophy taker drop away to a whisker biscuit thinking it would be a simple easy to tune set up.
Best thing I ever did was throw them both away and get a vapour trail limb driver, absolutely the easiest rest I have ever set up and using the limbs seems to make more sense to me...
I have the Yukon and guide gear. Guide jacket isn't used very much, the Yukon will do everything the guide can and is waterproof and cuts the wind better. It's also extremely breathable, I have worn it hunting from -25 Celsius as a windbreaker to +17 in the rain and am shocked how well it breathes
I don't have any input on clothing but please take lots of pictures and share your experience with us!!
I dream about hunts like this every night, would be like winning the lottery.
Love heating with wood! Probably one of favourite winter activities gathering firewood and splitting it by hand. Great exercise too
I run a pacific energy Summit wood stove and it is great, finished reinsulating my entire first floor and attic last summer and the house is so comfortable in the...
Beastmode, I don't want to sound like some holistic hippy here talking about a fad diet. I'm as skeptical about different diets as a person could be but maybe your son would benefit from going completely gluten free? I have done this for a year now and feel great, solved some GI problems I had...
I purchased a L.L. Bean 850 ultralight puffy last week and have been using it for whitetail hunting. It uses 850 fill power downtek treated down, and although the specs aren't listed for fill weight I contacted L.L. Bean and they said fill weight is 4.3oz. Also features an integral stuff sack...
I bought a sierra designs zissou 23 bag earlier this summer but didnt get a chance to try it or for that matter look it over until last weekend. Turns out this thing was really underfilled. I sent pics to their customer service and within 48 hours received a reply.
They were out of stock on the...
You guys were right their customer service rocks. They have given me a variety of options to correct the situation! Certainly sounds like my experience is an isolated one for sure.
So I got to test my new yukon jacket yesterday and wondering if my expectations are to high?
Pretty well a constant rain, heavy at times for approx 3 hours.
Jacket seemed to "wet out" quickly as if the dwr is almost not there in the constant rain. Wallet ended up getting soaked in the front...
