Replacing an extra fast action spinning rod. Recommendations?

Have been using St. Croix and broke the tip on my favorite Eyecon 63MLXF and of course they don't make an exact replacement as the handle is a bit longer but close enough. I was very impressed with a Daiwa Tatula spinning reel I bought so decided to try their Tatula spinning rod. This has...

    Non Alcoholic After dinner drink

Excellent work quitting cold turkey! I did the same in May '23. La Croix and other brands of sparkling water helped me with going through actual motions of drinking. I don't really have an after dinner routine but I enjoy an occasional kombucha, and go through a gallon of whole raw milk per...

    Our food

Walmart has decent food available, you have to choose the right stuff to throw in the cart. The question is why do lard asses usually have shit in the cart? Love the 6 packs of diet sodas straddled over the cart sides so there's more room for chips and pop tarts.

    The Rokslide Stock Traders Thread

Thanks. I'm ignorant to most of this and only know a little bit about grain contracts. I do know a couple amateurs that got pummeled with margin calls on wheat contracts.

    Our food

Super Hot chicken wings at the Vine in Iowa City is about the only thing I care to go out for anymore. Most everything tastes better at home. Plus, this tip culture is really off putting to me. I recall being satiated with small portions of fish in Barbados. Nutrient dense!

Does he feel a 223 with heavy for caliber bullets would work, or will it take a real deer caliber to reliably bring one down?

Where to start Wildcat Load? 35 SAUM?

I have a couple boxes of 200 gr TTSX to try in the 35 Sambar, good to know they hammer. My very first loads with CFE223 and 225 Accubonds shot so well I never changed a thing, including charge weight. I have 15 rounds left and those will easily get me through Iowa gun season, then I'll test the...

Where to start Wildcat Load? 35 SAUM?

The 35 Sambar is quickly becoming a favorite cartridge of mine. I use a 225gr Accubond and CFE223 with necked up Norma 300WSM brass. It's fairly flat shooting and packs a wallop. I rebarreled a crappy shooting MRC1999 in 300WSM three years ago when Iowa changed the caliber requirements for...

    Quitting Alcohol

19 months here, and well beyond the awkward and feel like you have to justify stage. It certainly gets easier, there's no chance I'm going back, this is who I am now, and I'm getting shit done and feeling great.

First time on new PCP rifle

The Benjamin Discovery was my first PCP years ago, it's fantastically light, accurate, and a joy to carry but it's a single shot and it doesn't have a integral moderator. Mine lost pressure from a crumbling valve stem or valve body after many years of service. Rebuilding was easy with a new...

Self heating or just cold cutout LiFePO4 batteries?

Ended up ordering a pair of LiTime 12v 100Ah self-heating with 100A BMS and cold cutout. Plus a Minn Kota MK230 PCL 15A precision charger. Probably didn't need the self-heating option but I've blown $100 in worse ways.

Self heating or just cold cutout LiFePO4 batteries?

I should mention the batteries will remain in the boat with an appropriate on board charger. They're buried under a rod locker and wired in tandem for 24v system so not coming out easily. Boat is a Lund 1825 Proguide.

Self heating or just cold cutout LiFePO4 batteries?

Looking to replace two group 27 12v lead acid trolling motor batteries with lithium. Low temperature cutout is a given but wondering about the self heating option since I fish in winter. Most charging will be done in a heated garage, was just thinking of the few times it might be charged away...
