    Kifaru must have accessories?

The grabit is never not on my setups. Beyond the obvious, I like the mini belt pouch on my left side. It fits my mini camera and I can slip my scope shade in it when not in use.

Light weight rifles with “heavy scopes”.

    What's your strategy...for retirement?

I am 51. My wife is 49 this year. We just sold our 9+ acres and downsized. Most of the profits on the property is from all of the improvements that we did for 100's of hrs. We are 100% debt free with the exception of the new house. She says we can pay it off in 6-10 years max. We both have...

    Looking for a LId

I love the Kifaru Std lid. It is truly a lid that captures gear nicely. I run this with a Kifaru pocket on it. Either a L&L #11 or a large belt pouch.

    Advice for hunting bedding areas?

What Paul said. Some of the reasons they love a bedding area is it is mysteriously safe for elk. It is commonly on the short step of a ridge where the wind swirls around. Spend a few days skirting the edges and working it without blowing out. Funny thing about heavy bedding areas: If you don't...

    Chainsaws (temporarily) allowed in Wilderness

The wilderness act should not be infringed on any more than 2A. If people don't like the trails, don't go there. Are they promoting wilderness or they promoting a groomed trail system. I welcome a trail system that has a healthy amount of blow downs. I agree this would set a bad precedent for...

    Idaho Middle Fork Zone

All the research I did made my first year that much more rewarding. Find your inner map geek and dive in. OP, Pilots will drop on 11/16 if you want and pick you up at least as late as 11/20. I know that from experience. If you are hearing otherwise, you are talking to the wrong guys.

What size pack for long weekends?

I can't ever see the value in a smaller bag when you already have a bigger bag. The guys with piles of bags are just gear whores(some self proclaimed) and can't help themselves. My bag never changes from summer scouting to November hunting. I have a SG setup(frankenpack) and a Kifaru setup, and...
