It looks like a chassis-style rifle but it is an integrated receiver with native AICS mag system, pic rail, short bolt lift (60ish degree, iirc), Mlok compatible handguard, threaded muzzle, folding adjustable stock and checks in under 7 lbs. That's a pretty intriguing list of specs.

Klymit has an eBay store with discounted refurbished pads and factory seconds on their gear. I bought a static v light insulated pad there. Only have a dozen or so nights on it but I can't tell that it is not a brand new unit.
That looks slick. Darn bolt is on the wrong side for me, but that may put me over the top to buy a Cross anyhow.
Interested to see the caliber options. A 6lb .338 Federal......
That's about the whole shebang in a non-custom rifle right now I'd think. Supposedly the Savage lightweight with Proof barrel will be made in southpaw configuration at some point soon.
You could start with a Tikka in a magnum cartridge and do an OMR upgrade package to that specification...
Howa does state the mini action is under 5lb, but data on the other action sizes is scant. Outdoor Life just did a mini review of one in 6.5 Creedmoor. They report 6.2lb for the short action so the long action should be several ounces heavier.
I wet-cured a hind quarter this past season. It was in the soak for 2 weeks, then a rinse and then into the smoker to cook through. This was following a Hank Shaw recipe for corned venison. Delicious stuff for a sandwich with sauerkraut.
Ive flown westward with a checked hunting pack and gear exactly once, but i added cheap damage insurance by putting it all in an REI duffle bag designed and sized for such a task.
The safety button can be reversed. Cursory search results indicate 2 things:
1) it can be tricky to get the safety free of the detent and spring in order to remove it.
2) benelli will reverse it for you if you arrange to send them your trigger group.
I need to get with the times. I never thought of a site like that to have hunting/hunter-friendly destinations. I thought those rental sites were better suited to hipsters, hostels, and beach bums.
I am in search of a house to rent for a week in October for duck/pheasant hunting in North Dakota. We had a place lined up, but the owner just sold the house so we are suddenly S.O.L. Our original destination was the Cando area north of Devils Lake and we desire to hunt PLOTS potholes and public...
Apologies, but I do not know how the SO hip belt is designed. The Kuiu pouch has a simple pass-through loop sewed on that also has some velcro inside that interfaces with the Kuiu hip belt. I'd bet it can handle about a 3" wide belt at the most.
Sub 5lb Howa minis with carbon fiber stock and carbon stock/barreled models in short and long action configs sound interesting. I'm surprised there hasn't been a post about these yet.
Thinking about the mini in .350 legend or grendel for my boy's first deer rifle.
Check out ENZO. They are Scandinavian steel (like HELLE) and offer a bevy of different options for blanks. Theirs are mostly full-tang designs.
DLT trading for those.
Ragweed Forge or Thompsons for more traditional Puukko and Leuku hidden-tang type blades.
