True enough, but i don't have the weight written down of my Stockade sporter stock on my mod. 11, so just wanted to give a real world data point for one of the styles made by Kevin.
I checked the weight of my Stockade "Woodchuck" model 10 Savage short-action stock at 35 oz.
That is for a blind magazine, stagger-feed action.
That weight doesn't include trigger guard or buttpad.
I keep hearing such things. Hopefully the large cut in tags will give enough room to breathe and to find a couple of goats. Having never been, I'm hoping my goal of helping my dad connect and maybe find one for myself can be met.
Sorry to hijack the thread. Good luck OP on your hunt.
With any luck, I'll be following a similar game plan for our hunt in 7 but I've determined that if we tag out early it will be better to head back east into the South Dakota Black Hills for the trout fishing.
I think that's normal, and doing so should not allow the rifle to fire. The accutrigger blade acts as a sear-blocker. You will have to open the bolt and reclose to reset the trigger group I should think.
Per the Christensen SHOT Show announcement, wait a little while and the Mesas and Ridgelines will have the new stocks that claim to shave about a pound of weight from previous models if you want to get things nice and light. Some shorter barrel lengths too.
This new lighter stock is pushing me...
I have 2 of his stocks. They will not be as light as some other makers - more along the lines of the B&C or HS Precision in weight. I do not own any other custom stocks, so keep in mind I can't compare to a McMillan, etc.
I have a varmint "Woodchuck" model for a Savage short-action blind mag...
Atlasworks has an AICS pattern bottom metal with an eccentric bushing to allow it to work with both stagger- and center-feed hole spacing.
I have no experience with this product having only used CDI (RIP) in the past. I am looking into it for an upcoming build on a stagger feed model 10.
