Is that a new DBM offering, and is it Win Model 70 compatible ?!?
I have a few FN SPR & Win 70 with older CDI Gunworks version using AICS magazines, but no longer available... thanks!!
- Edit to apologize in advance if it's inappropriate to ask about 'Win 70 compatibility' in a MRC...
thanks, but it's just a Win Featherweight SA takeoff walnut.
It's a little more svelte because it came off a Compact with shorter youth LOP. I love it as my 223 trainer, in part because all my other bolt guns are M70 /FN SPR types
I still prefer CRF but the Rangers push feeds I have handled have been solid. Rangers are usually a birch stock with sights, this one has been bedded into a walnut stock.
While it's not a "RSS", it's a great little shooter. I hunt M70's so I prefer to have same trigger & safety etc...
Yes, but in this case a good gunsmith should be able to just trim yours a little to allow longer COAL. Depending on how much you want to go longer, you may need to tweak or switch out the box too.
Please note I'm NOT a smith, but this is pretty common adjustment for a M70 rechamber...
To clarify, I believe M70 long action push feed bolt used a different bolt stop and box for shorter cartridges, but bolt itself is same 308 vs 30-06 etc.
In your case going from 308 to 7-08 shouldn't take any adjustments. (of course changing to magnum means opening up bolt face or changing...
My current M70 two piece combo is Burris Xtreme base with Seekins Precision rings.
(M70 Classic LA with Burris base, Seekins low, LRHS 3-12 is below).
The Seekins are bulkier, but have been very solid for me.
Full rail provides more mounting flexibility, but usually is higher.
... still overthinking things, but I finally found some 130gr TMK !
To be clear I haven't seen a white tail walk away from a 129gr SST, but I'm curious
....and I just received a bunch more 129gr SST as an alternate to the unobtainable TMK ; - )
TMK is clearly 'more-better', but SST seem to work pretty well on whitetails. I'm overthinking again.
I've shot a bunch of the 130s in both 260 & 6.5 swede in matches. I think the 'hunting' and 'expansion' reference is new. I do know I did some research a few years ago because these shot so well, and I didn't find anything at that time...
Looking for reliable and accurate ammunition for...
yes, following instructions that Muley Buck posted in that older thread helps a lot.
I'll also run a cleaning mop through die occasionally, it's surprising how much crud can build up
I don't need it very often, but a center dot that can be adjusted low has made it much easier to see a dark animal against dark woods at last light. S&B Klassic is very nice example
My bud has had great results with similar (but now discontinued) Hornady 6.5 swede 129gr SST factory Superperformance ammo.
After seeing his results I started playing around with 129 SST and H4350.
I prefer a large "deployment" type duffel if I need that much gear, but there is a weight penalty over lighter weight REI style. My current one (LBT) has internal and external organization pockets, which is nice.
