I ordered a set of SM of off eBay last week. They’re coming from England. Ordered in the 2nd should be here the 16th. This will be my second set of SM.
There's enough difference between the .223 vs the 22 Creed to make the 22 Creed a viable choice. Light recoil with magnum like velocities. My 20" 22-250AI pushes the 80 ELDm @3200 fps
Don't resist the purchase of a Varmint rifle. There is nothing more enjoyable than sending a bunch of rounds down range out of a 22 center-fire rifle. At one time my .270 was my only rifle then I added a 22-250 with the idea that if I had a coyote specific rifle, I would spend more time coyotes...
I don't have any load help for you, but several years ago I used the Sierra 110gr Game King on several whitetails. They worked great. I've moved on from the .270 for coyotes, but it was my first rifle, and it still sits in my safe.
I always chuckle when someone comes on Rokslide and asks if a UM or Rokslide product is any good. This place is so loaded with fanboys, you're not likely to hear any negatives about those products.
By the way, I'm going to order a set of UM rings for my new Tkka 6.5 PRC when it gets here.😁
Wanting to trade new Norma 7SAUM brass 240 count or Peterson 280AI brass 100ct for equal quality 6.5 PRC brass.
Lapua
Peterson
ADG
Norma
Originally I was gonna build a 7 SAUM, then decided I was gonna build a 280 AI, then I just ordered a 6.5 PRC. Oh ya, a while back I traded some new Lapua 6.5...
I Have .223 & 22-250 AI, that used to be a standard 22-250. If you’re wanting a training rifle go 223. Even the recoil a 22-250 will be irritating after a while. With some dialing the 223 will reach out as far as you want to bang steel. Just make sure you get a properly twisted barrel.
I use a Coleman lantern, but prefer a LED lantern, Duracell makes a nice one @Costco. Last year I used a strip of LED also, but didn't care for it too much.
