Ive flown several times and used my stone glacier 5900 as my carry on. I always put it in the overhead and then used the lid for my small items I needed during the flight.
Take a look in the fitness sub forum, there have been some recent discussion on endurance that have solid knowledge.
As for the initial question, no splitting the quad and hams won’t help your hiking. Could it a bit, maybe. Will it get you stronger in those lifts, probably.
In my opinion, it...
I personally haven't.
That said, after another member reference the book "Training for the Uphill Athlete" in this thread I picked up a copy. I'm about halfway through it and recommend it. It does a good job of breaking down the various aspects of endurance work.
1. Job availability is there, pending experience and what you'll take for pay
2. Pay is typically decent, but on the lower end for Civil. I can't speak for Mechanical
3. Time off depends on the work, but CE is typically heavy in the summer, lighter/office work in winter (which in turn means...

Like stated, sport specific is best. Especially working the small muscles in the feet on uneven terrain.
I did mtn tough for a bit and my experience was it was a GPP program that had a bias towards mountain hunting, but not quite specific enough. Although they have different programs, so they...
No issues with the same day, but same session can be tricky IMO.
From personal experience, and I assume it is also an energy balance/fitness level issue, when you get into 45 min plus sessions, lifting(for strength) after zone 2 leaves something to be desired.
And doing zone 2 after intense...
Agreed on the MAF formula.
Zone 2 is great, but with it coming into the spotlight there's alot of stuff to wade through. I did alot of zone 2 at at the lower end and didn't see the best results. You need to be towards the top. And as others have mentioned, you can't just blindly use a heart...
