The parks I was hunting last week had sandhill cranes in them as well. Made a hell of a racket.
2 times last week I heard a loud crashing sound, almost sounded like a single clash of big critters with antlers, but no follow up sounds. Different days, different sides of the same park. I'd almost...
I cant decide if the timing for this is ridiculous or strategic. Did Larry just set out for a 10 day float?
Guessing this isn't going how the OP thought it would, but I'm looking forward to the memes from all sides.
It’s quieter than the single Honda 2000. I think most of the bigger ones are. I had my 2000i in a camp ground and the guy 4 spots down had some kind of 3000ish watt Yamaha and I was kind of embarrassed to run my Honda in comparison because it was louder.
I had a Honda 2000i. Bought it new. Sold it and bought a Champion 3200 with remote start for half the price. That was 5 years ago, haven’t ever reconsidered it. It’s quieter than the Honda 2000 and only one motor to service. Runs everything I’ve needed it to while rving.
Dangit. I’m on a trip at the moment and this highlighted 2 things I usually have and forgot this time around.
A quality tire plug kit (blackjack or other shop quality plugs)
A code reader
Everything else mentioned
Fuses, replacement trailer light bulbs if you don’t have LED’s
Duck tape
zip ties...
Someone flagged a trail into one of my stands on some county land one year before rifle season, that time I re-routed about half of it into the middle of a bunch of aspen regrowth. The rest of the time I pull it.
I'm an Amazon basics AA battery advocate, but only in non cellular cameras.
In cellular cameras as previously mentioned solar or 12v batteries in a box are my go to. I have some 12v 5ah trailer brake batteries I set up for $20-25ish that will run my dedicated cell cams for 2.5-3 months on a...
It’s all starting to make sense to me now. On a federal level, the forest service doesn’t suck at maintaining their permanent infrastructure, they just have a long term re-wilding goal.
That article has some valid points and there are probably places and circumstances in which road reclamation...
Sold a 2023 equinox to Carvana, they made the best offer and picked It up from 180 miles away. Pretty painless.
If you’re a glutton for punishment, weeding through idiots on marketplace might bring a higher price.
I needed this,.
I was over 600 hours last year on audible alone.
I've been running out of content lately, this should get me going again.
Hardcore History is a good one, The wrath of the Khans is one I will listen to again sometime.
Barn Talk can be a good one if you have any interest in...
My Uncle and another guy did their first Alaskan moose hunt in the late 80's or early 90's. They found an ad in Alaska Magazine for $500 a person for the flight to and from an undisclosed location. They did get a moose.
We've been trying to do Alaskan moose for 4-5 years now, between crazy...
Has anyone else experienced the Glendive Tractor beam? I once thought the phenomenon was a myth, perpetuated by college buddies, beer, and bad decisions. Now I am pretty certain it is a naturally occurring set of physical laws that heavily influence the geographic location one will encounter...
My dad still has a standard aluminum weather guard cross box that I'd bought new 20 years ago.
At some point you seem to have to be able to work on the adjustment for the lock strikers on the last few I've bought, everything still works ,but over time they need some tweaking.
I worked for a state Agency whose trucks had a ton of idle time and an 8 year life cycle. I’m a Chevy guy, but the 6.2 gas v8 ford f-250s and 350s were the only trucks that thrived in that environment. The last generation Gm’s with 5.3’s needed motors around 100k, everything diesel was...
If you live in the salt belt I’d check into the paint on the PJ’s. It’s been 10 years since I’ve been around a new one, but their paint was usually shot by year 2 or 3 back then. Maybe they’re better now. I’m sure it’s an issue with most of them.
