Hey all,
Looking to pick up a 22lr bolt action.
This rifle will primarily be used for range work. (I love hunting with my Henry 22lr)
Between these three choices, which one would you recommend and why?
CZ 457 (probably leaning Varmint - but maybe American)
Tikka T1x
Bergera B-14
Thanks in...
I sure enjoy my 7mm-08. I find it meets the sweet spot. I shoot the 120 BT for speed goats and WT and can shoot heavier should I have a chance to go on a elk hunt. (of course, I'd use the elk hunt as a reason to buy a new rifle...but, that is beside the point)
Safe travels.
My only thing I'm awaiting on is what new rifles will be chambered in lefty and what new chamberings will be offered in lefty (in current production lefty friendly rifles)
Being a lefty myself - here are my thoughts (for what they are worth)
Weatherby - Excellent rifles. Would happily own one
Browning - Great rifles. Would really like to find a Hells Canyon McMillian
Tikka - Great rifles, but (probably like you) I'm looking at fluting a bolt, dropping in a carbon...
Much like Vern said above me.
A 7mm-08 with 120gr ballistic tips is hell for whitetail, pronghorn, mule deer, and hogs (at least here in Texas). It kicks like a little pussy cat.
Had a elk trip that fell through, but was going to shoot the elk with 150gr Accubond.
Lots of guys use the eld(m) with great results on game. If you're going to try the ELD loads/bullets, I would encourage you to try both the X and the M and use whichever one shoots better in your rifle.
