I've got the 2019 year model Motorola Moto G Power. It's got a 5,000mah battery and only costs about $220. It's done everything I need with no hiccups.
If you're interested, I'd wait until April or so. That's usually when Motorola releases the newest G series.
Agreed. That's heavy.
Most of the weight must be in the steel barrel. The Accustock is about 2lbs. I can't imagine an aluminum receiver adding a lot of weight. It's probably about 2lbs too.
If the Impulse catches on, maybe Savage will release a version that's more like the model 110 Storm...
Easy choice. Tikka T3x Superlite in .270 Win. Toped with a 3-10 Nightforce SHV. Add a Yodave trigger spring and a Limbsaver Airtech pad.
The above is my primary hunting rifle. Minus the Nightforce. Still working on that.
I get just under MOA 10 shot groups with 130gr Hornady SST and Nosler...
If you're worried about the barrel of a hunting rifle getting too hot, then you're not planning to shoot it realistically. There aren't many hunting scenarios where you'll be heating up a barrel on a factory Bergara B14 or Tikka T3x enough to worry about POI shifting.
You'll see the best...
None of those three choices are preferable to your existing magnums at 600 yards. I suggest finding ways to lighten your current rifles. Replace the rifle stock with a lightweight aftermarket stock. Replace the scope with a lightweight alternative. Have the barrel threaded and install a muzzle...
Don't forget the barrel vice, action vice, torque wrench, go gauge, and no-go guage.
It's not complicated, but it's not as simple as just screwing in a barrel.
*Edited to remove comment about short actions.
I highly recommend finding someone local to you who will let you shoot their 300 Win if you can. You'll likely be able to handle the recoil if you shoot a 30'06 often, but it won't hurt (much) to try a .300 Win before you buy.
To be frank, if you're used to shooting a 30'06 around 100 yards...
Would you elaborate further on the benefits of the new stock? I've had my model 16 LWH almost since they hit the market. I've been searching pretty much the same amount of time for a replacement to the factory stock.
That's fair. There's nothing wrong with liking the way your rifle looks.
Let me ask you this, if there was a 10% chance that fluting the barrel negatively affects accuracy, then would you still get it fluted?
The point I'm trying to make is, if you get a reply saying that fluting is not...
Take this with a grain of salt, because all my rifles with fluted barrels were fluted at the factory.
I don't see the benefit in fluting a factory barrel for two reasons. The first is the weight savings are negligible unless you're starting with a bull barrel. The second is the money spent on...
What do you mean by internal chassis? Can you explain please?
Do you mean an internal chassis like the mini chassis that Manners offer for their rifle stocks?
Great. You're storing it right.
I wouldn't worry about leaving it compressed for a few days.
I've got an REI Igneo that I've spent over 150 nights in and it still holds it's loft just fine. I definitely don't leave it compressed if I don't have to though. I'm sure I've left it compressed for...
