A really fun one for my last road trip was "Old Gods of Appalachia" which is a somewhat fictional scary tales from old timey Kentucky and Virginia. Very entertaining. Although if you're camping alone might also give you the frights.
Otherwise on my late night listening is:
Ridiculous History...
anyone else's shirts stink to high heavens when they're wet? I got a couple of the merino tees and I thought I had a wet dog tied to me wearing it around. Washed them twice and still cant get the stink out
I bought a raffle ticket and it came with a $20 off coupon at Academy for the stores in Tennessee... but I'm not in Tennessee so I can't use it. Someone else can though!
First come first serve, I'm sure someone will use this quick. I'm pretty sure its a one time use coupon.
Save $20 off your...
No, just check it in and pay before you get there online. Once you're in line they'll know to pull you aside for your inspection. I've never had an issue. Same goes for my ski equipment, just play it cool and hope you dont get an ahole behind the counter. 99% of the time they're cool tho.
Proofs in the pudding. 308 with 150 grain barnes factory Vor Tx ammo at 200 yards, took 2 shots but I think one would have done it (shoot till they stop moving is what I heard)
How does that work? If they arent owned / branded or protected, can I go and harvest one? Seems like a no brainer way to fill the freezer. I spoke to a cowboy out there that used to get paid by the state to round them up, some would live to tell the tale, others would die because they were so...
I've used the PS Seasonings several times now to great applause, the two standouts were the Bratwurst and the Philly Cheese Steak with mozzarella added
I hunted 29 in mid Nov. I saw 1 buck in 6 days so it's just a tough year. Rancher near us mentioned the coyotes were tough and we certainly heard them every night running. That and several years of drought dont help either despite this summer being pretty wet. One guy got a 4x and thats about...
Check out Texas Hunting Forum in their Guides section. Post up there what you're looking for and see what pops out. No promises on quality and do your homework so you're not hunting in a 50 acre HF pasture. Axis had a rough year with the freeze but there's lots of other exotics around for...
Paying to hunt hogs is not the affordable way I can tell you for sure. Contact local game warden, with the rut on there's a lot of hit deer on the roadways and they'll donate to needy families. Sam Houston NF has hogs and is free other than the license, but good luck finding them. Best bet might...
I had the same back / forth when I ordered my 308. I shoot Barnes 150gr TTSX exclusively, bought a bunch of it so I dont need to worry about ammo supply from now on and it just does what you need.
Mangrove snapper will be around every dock, smaller circle hooks and dead shrimp will work on the little guys, but the big ones are fairly smart and hook shy. If you can get a kayak there will be opportuities for cuda and grouper around the mangroves, maybe tarpon too.
Headboat trips are fun...
Everyone's not wrong here. I'm in Houston and apply to all the permit hunts and I always end up pulling 2-3 / year where I get a chance to hunt deer, hogs, exotics, etc. The great ones require a lot of preference points but even the bad ones are pretty fun when you have 700ish acres to yourself...
So what you're saying is that there isnt a mythical half mulie, half elk, half bear beast that lives within that target?
Interesting info, appreciate it!
So I'm putting in the work for my NM desert mulie hunt this fall and I happened across this symbol while looking for campsites and watering holes... It certainly doesnt look like an old drilling pad nor are there any in the area. What am I working with here, ghosts? Bad juju? Alien beacon...
I used this one and smoked them on our pellet grill at lowest temp till just right... We ate most of the batch within the week, so so good. $10 for enough seasoning for 15 lbs. They regularly have sales too...
I drew a mulie tag in SE NM (the desert) this year and have a few questions as the unit I drew in has little information available online about the conditions out there.
- I know I can camp wherever I would like (for the most part), whats the safety like for my shiz if I leave my camp during...
Call around and asked to be placed on the waitlist for any cancellations. It worked for me in 2020, but yea all the good ones are already booked for this year and next.
