I am going single bevel once I start hunting elk. Just get something with good quality steel. It will be easier to sharpen and stay sharp longer. Mechanicals will work on elk, but I want something with more forgiveness if I make a bad shot or hit bone. I would definitely go single bevel and at...
Thanks for the comment. I meant the C.3. Guess I looked at it incorrectly the first time. I’ve always had 10x50 binos, just the very big and clunky ones. I would like to stay with 10x50 unless I could find a much better brand in 10x42 with the same cost.
I am going to go with CVA Optima open sight version. I would choose CVA just because of the amount of people that use them and the ease of use. They seem to be the most user friendly and there are a lot of review/demonstrations on how to use them.
So I am having an issue deciding on what optics to choose. I have been looking to spend around $500. I have it narrowed down to 3 pairs. Maven C.1, Leupold BX-4 pro guide and Athlon Cronus G2 UHD. I am going on an antelope hunt in October and will be getting the demo pair of mavens to test them...
I would probably start on the west side close to the water and open field. If there is anything that will be planted in the field, it will help out a lot. I would stick to the lower elevations on the property. Probably going to be better cover out of the wind and as far as vegetation as well.
I've got a hawk helium stick with scout platform and a 2 step aider. Most of the time I use it when I go to a new hunting spot or don't know where I want to put a climber. I eventually want the new tethrd sticks and some sort of platform. Seems like those would work better than a one stick and...
Talk to the game wardens/wildlife biologists in the area. If you can find people that have hunted the unit that's even better. Best thing to do is go to Wyoming Fish and Wildlife page and find their map. it will have access and everything on it. If you have some sort of map on your phone (like...
Anything in 6.5 would be enough for Antelope. Just shoot whatever your gun likes and aim for the heart. They won’t go far if you put the bullet in the pump station.
