I use a .310 on my 7mm PRC brass, should be the same for 7 RM.
A loaded round was .314 across the neck, I tried a .312 bushing and didn’t get enough tension to hold Barnes bullets. Put the .310 in and got great results.
24" IBI Carbon Hunter
I had issues with the rifle yesterday, front action screw came loose and groups were very odd.
1st shot bullseye, 2nd shot 4" high, 3rd shot bullseye. Ended up shooting all the loads for velocity measurements and will revisit next week.
Similar story here. Dad called me on a Sunday saying my grandfather wasn’t doing very well but he figured I’d have a few days to come home on Wednesday since it was easier to get home from work that day.
Had an hour long flight, when I landed at my home airport I got a Tex saying he had passed...
I think this is more geared towards the gas gun folks.
As they state, 22-250 performance out of an AR-15 platform. Also designed to shoot the new ELD-VT bullet.
I used H4831sc in mine cause it’s readily available up here and I bought 16lbs of it.
I posted some pics of my groups in another thread on here. I was very unimpressed with the 160gr CX, it was over MOA all through the ladder test I did.
The 168gr LRX was much better, averaging 3/4 MOA and I...
I only eat the back straps and tenderloins as steaks.
I cut the back straps into 3.5” steaks. I find them too small and don’t like cutting medallions. I like a nice 6-8oz chunk of meat.
what’s so bad about case mouth peening?
I trim, chamfer and deburr before loading every time.
Even if I just chamfered and deburred, peening shouldn’t be an issue
I shoot Barnes for a few reasons.
My hunting style is anywhere from 50-250yd stand hunting for whitetails, to 600yd open prairie shots on elk and mulies.
I want a bullet that can hit bone and still exit. The perfect broadside shot isn’t always available and sometimes I need to go through a...
i do my load development on my 7 PRC with a brake. Its the only way I can stay consistent on the bench shooting 25 rounds.
I take the brake off and re-confirm groups and zero and go hunting.
my rifle is 8.5lbs with a loaded mag.
i also have hard water, but dont mind the spots because after i lube and re-size, i wipe the cases with alcohol to get the lube off, any water spots disappear as well.
