It’s a busy zone and usually the elk get pushed into the bush after the first few days.
We will be hunting anywhere in between, but we will be hunting with camp on our backs in case they are in deeper than we think.
Heading out for my first rifle elk hunt Sept 19-25. General tag in a zone where there’s tons of elk. There’s actually 3 zones all beside each other where about 750 bulls get killed each year. Lots of opportunity.
My cousin has land bordering the public and has cows and bulls on trail cam right...
up here theres grizzly everywhere an elk walks. so we have to pack the meat a few hundred yards from the carcass before doing the long trips in one shot. heaviest load first.
i have never had a scope ring come loose on me, but i use blue loctite.
i have only ever had my action screws work loose once, and it was the only time i didnt use blue loctite.
I don’t know anything about them, but usually around here no news is good news. Lots of unethical outfitters around and they usually get blasted on the local hunting forum.
Looks like you will be hunting straight west of where I live. Beautiful country out around Nordegg. I used to elk hunt...
who will your outfitter be?
You bought the right ammo from that list, assuming it groups well. Moose hunting here is mostly close range, might get a longer shot if hes on a cutline or across a slough, but most shots are in the thicker bush.

Every exploration well they have drilled is hitting oil, and lots of it. With their recent Ecuador wells I can only see room for growth.
I am under water on GTE, but I have been averaging down and it’s paying off.
