Hide thinning in summer?

So my Northern B.C bear hunt was scheduled for the end of may but due to covid-19 we will either cancel or bump it to June. My outfitter is afraid of possible balding spots or thin coats later in summer.. I am new to bears so what does the rockslide crew say?

I can cancel or reschedule with outfitter but with my schedule i dont know if I can plan this trip again next spring. Outfitter could also push the hunt back into June but I don't know how much that would change the hunt or odd of shot opportunity. Black bear spot and stalk with the longbow is...

I am juggling the same issue, booked a black bear hunt in B.C and need to figure out what to do with previous booked airline etc. Outfitter does. It know if it will open but said a june hunt is possible. My guess is I will have to just cancel all of it. Sucks

Bomb Proof insert/outsert. Opinions??

Do you think using a lighter gpi arrow thinner walls, etc is a detriment on animal impacts? Or if the head and insert system holds strong the lighter weight shaft is irrelevant.

It's pretty clear many are missing the point i was trying to make. Forget the bullet idea, think more along the lines of a dart shaped projectile vs a 29 inch arrow same weight. If both traveled the same speed and straightness with a broadhead on front do would you think one would penetrate...

I build arrows the right way etc. I shoot traditional equipment I just want the strongest system available. The iron will system is peaking my interest.

It makes more sense to me when I think of a 650 grain dart hitting something going 200fps vs a full length arrow hitting at 250fps. Energy/penetration loss due to shaft flex on impact has to be substantial.

I have used firenock outserts and have never had one fail, I have also used the Ethics insert/outsert system and have bent two but I hit a pipe fence on each shot. I'm wondering what you believe for carbon shafts is the strongest and best system? Personally I feel like if the Ethics outsert...

Ha, yes I agree. I guess the thought I have is more like what if the point hit at that 650g weight without a shaft behind at all and if it "magically stayed on a straight path, i wonder if it would continue to penetrate like a complete arrow would at the same weight. Totally useless thoughts...

Like I said just having fun in the man cave building things. I think steering the arrow would be over right at impact. And the bullet idea is more of mental image just thinking what would a 650 grain broadhead with let's say 8 inches of shaft do traveling at 180fps on impact vs having the extra...
