    Kuiu makes the big swim......

I'm on the front lines in the battle against China everyday and get my nose bloody all the time but in certain sectors American Manufacturing is still strong and doing very well. It's not always price driven. Many times it's lead-time, the cost is a given that they are going to be cheaper...

    Heavy Pack training

Yes......I do 45# squat lifts from the gound to mid chest height to simulate me loading a elk quarter into a llama pannier. Sorry guys.......you can go back to being serious. Ok seriously yeah I'm trying to drop as much fat as possible right now and add more HIIT cardio.....even though it sucks.

    Looking for a lil help.

I like this idea, thanks. Thanks! I understand what your saying, been a runner for a long time since HS and in the Military I did plenty of running. It's really not much fun anymore to be honest but I do as much as I can stand. I like the hiking so that works when I can. Time-wise during...

    Looking for a lil help.

Exactly, I understand this. I'm not looking for short cut, that's not me and anybody that know me knows I'm a hard committed worker. I would love to have someone knowedable to talk with to make sure I'm doing the right things. That IS what I'm looking for.

    Looking for a lil help.

My conditioning is ok, I'll be fine. What I meant in regards to your abouve comment is after I get back from the end of the season my weight is way down and physically the fat on the sides and front is way down. Lungwise and leg wise I keep up ok during the hunt.

    Looking for a lil help.

Yes confussed or frustrated that the weight has not come off. Figured with as much as I'm doing something should have happen. I'll be fine for hunting as is but I can tell my cardio (maybe call it stamina) has dropped a bit with more focus on weights. Short term goal for the next month...

    Looking for a lil help.

In the spring I had started my annual reduction of cals and increase of cardio to start the slow loss of winter insulation. It's always a slow process with me usually ending up feeling fairly good for my age by hunting season but never down to the weight I want until I get back from the actual...

To much clothes or to little for a 6 day backpack hunt??

Weird my Jetstream is pretty light and doesn't work for sheet as a pillow. I'm in my Jetstream alot. Seems like most of the time I have my base merino layer on, then the second layer (Sitka Travers shirt) and then the Jetstream. It breaths fairly well, has pit zips, is windproof, fairly...

To much clothes or to little for a 6 day backpack hunt??

Yes it's heavy and doesn't stop the wind.

To much clothes or to little for a 6 day backpack hunt??

If it were me I'd ditch the vest, add a puffy jacket or vest and then a softshell windproof water resistant jacket like the Jetstream or equivalant Kuiu. Save the Cabelas rain gear for when it really pores. That stuff doesn't breath worth a damn and I don't put it on unless it's really raining...

    Element/Injexion Issues...

Paper punching is for spotties......tust me I know. :) Is the set up accurate, do the arrows hit the mark at all yardages, do the B-heads hit with the points? If so save yourself some frustration. Most of my set up that shoot great end up with a high left tear when I check it with paper...

waterproof gloves, is there such a thing and who makes em?

REI had a black pair I was intested in but they were black. Kuiu makes a fairly waterproof pair, this will be my second season on them. Been fairly happy with them.
