New Bow Hunter in AZ seeking guidance.

No experience with PSE but Bull Basin is a great pro-shop, little pricey but definitely worth the money to get you all set up with a new bow. I'm down at Huachuca, but haven't hunted mulies so can't help you there. There are tons of coues deer down here on post if you wanted to get into that.

    New KUIU pieces

According to the Kuiu blogs they are in fact working on a quix down sleeping bag. Hopefully the price tag isn't outrageous on it.

    Wet / Cold weather prep.

I'm about to embark on an elk hunt this weekend and its calling for rain/snow with barely above freezing temps during the day and teens at night. Any issues with bow getting wet all day and freezing at night?

    Which B-stinger??

I've been happy with my 8" w/ 8oz. 12oz was too much for me and 4 didn't stabilize enough for me. I experimented with a bother stab that was 10" and it was just too much. Keep in mind I mostly mountain hunt and I'm glad I have the shorter 8". Wish I could go shorter but it affects my groups...

    Longrange spotting scope help!

Luke and fellow sheep hunters....how much better are the 85's than the 60's in terms of judging rams from long distance (miles) and shorter distances 1000yds or less. One of these days I will invest in better glass and for the majority of alaska hunting I don't see as much use in better binos...

    Thumb release or index finger

Appreciate the pics, much more useful than just explaining something. I went out today and shortened up my release as, like your article mentioned, I was shooting it like it was a gun. It did seem alot smoother and more surprising when the shot went off using the shorter release and modified...

    DT1 has arrived.....initial thoughts.

There are alot of guys wanting to hack off the snow collar on their DT1's. For whatever reason I just can't bring myself to hack it off, however, I did think of an idea. Since I like the snow collar, I think just because it keeps all my stuff contained in the pack, even when jam packed instead...

    Arrows

Beman MFX, been happy with them although I picked up a dozen Black Eagle Rampage to try out, want to see how 400gr shoots for me. I shoot 125gr broad heads, total weight 467gr, about 270fps, shoots darts, quiet too. I'm cheap and won't buy any arrows I can't get for unde $100. Bemans were...

    DT1 has arrived.....initial thoughts.

You'll probably need to rig something up to hold down the top of your bow. The grab-it was not enough just holding the bottom of the bow. I put a small 1/2" nylon strap with small buckles through the attachment straps on the top of my lid (Standard lid by the way). At the end of my 10 day...

    New KUIU pieces

What I really want is a sleeping bag made of that new quik down stuff...that would be worth the money IMO.

    New KUIU pieces

At 10oz and much more packable than my current puffy I may think about it, I'm sure it's warm enough. My only issue with most puffy's is they aren't windproof. I like them standalone without a shell on most of the time. I probably won't dish out $250 for one, but would snag a used one for...

    Paracord

Never heard of the dyneema stuff before, but only $15 to save another 2oz in my pack I'll definitely be picking some up. Really think th small diameter will have more applicability in the field than 550 cord too.

    Thumb release or index finger

I've never shot a thumb release. Does it increase difficulty of drawing any? I would imagine its just something to get used to as with my strap release I pull without engaging any muscles in my hand since it is attached to my wrist. Any difficult with pulling the release while having to use...

    Blisters!

Forget the socks man those shoes are worn out. Those things are only supposed to get like 3-400 miles out of them. I'm a Brooks guy myself and I wear the regular shoes (not minimalistish...like the grits) those things are supposed to get like 5-600 miles. Time for a new pair of shoes. If you...

    Rubber rand repair

I forget what its called, not shoe goo, probably something similar. It is effective mostly and keeping any further dirt from getting lodged between the rand and the leather and thus preventing any more peeling of the rand. However, the stuff will have to be reapplied frequently as rocks pretty...

Waterproof Sleeping bag compression stuff sack?

I just use standard lightweight roll top dry bags. The extra weight of the compression straps just isn't worth a couple more cubic inches in my pack. Currently use the Outdoor Research ones and they have served me well. If you just compress them tight and stuff them in your pack tight they...

    My 2012 Alaskan Moose Float

For a few minutes I thought you must have been in the fastest cub on earth...then I saw the pilot in the shot and realized you were playing that faster than real time.

    cover scents

Might as well just bring a cooler with some vanilla ice cream in it, or a vanilla latte depending on the weather.
