Like this thread, brings back a lot of memories. Bout like most, have found arrowheads, pottery shards, lots of mining stuff. couple different spots where rocks where made into a square outline. One had cans of food and looked like a spot somebody was roughing it at. But the best is a full...
Just dove down a rabbit hole on this one.... Live in AZ, have hunts in CO & NM, will be camping in Utah for a vacation. All with OHV usage. I have 12 tabs open and am more confused than I have been in a while. Here is NM, it makes sense to me:
@Augie So you wrestled..... Hard! Know some people say these injuries should never happen in youth/ high school sports but it is quite common IMO. Playing hurt/ injured can be the norm. There was a very high level of self determination that was worth it to me. The juice was worth the...
You are doing your homework! Might of been on a podcast but somewhere I learned to look at what the unit typically produces. Trying to find a 190 in a unit that produced a max of 175" is spinning your wheels. Good luck on the hunt!
@Marine4life I would disagree with some of the others on score. Mass is driving factor in high score of a ram. Used to remember some vague percentage but it is the driver. Say the ram is short length and is 34 instead of 39 on length. But averages 12 instead of 10 on the eight mass...
Ran into a youtuber on the mountain, then watched him putting screenshots of his map system on the videos. He did it correctly, the points he was making up were nowhere to be found. Just some random spot on a map. But have seen others give exact locations.....
I've had a couple animals jump the string, never to be recovered. Both times there was rain the night of/ after the shot. Both ended up being hit farther back than I wanted. One I went back a week later after season to see if I could find a downed animal, stink, birds etc. Gridded a very...
Lots of FS camping options.
Not sure how long your hunt is, but there is a neat place to stay. But would eliminate the need for the wall tent. Has wood stoves and hot showers: https://www.arizonanordicvillage.com/front-country-yurts-and-cabins
Might be mixing up states. Though on the back of the tag there used to have a little graphic if I remember correctly. If you selected E-tag, tag the animal that way and you should be good. Page 4 of the hunting regulation booklet.
Lots of nice bulls, don't get too stuck on chasing a number. But re-review your pics I bet you have more bulls than you are initially thinking. The one @William Sublette called out is probably highest scoring. The second night photo bull looks really nice as well- internet judging would guess...
@mtwarden great write up as always. I have an inability to put words to paper/ keys in this case. Think if you would write a hunting story book, I would read it as would many others.
@Warrior10 agree- would love to implement an age class restriction. Or better yet give them some years to recover. Effectively what game and parks is kinda trying to do
Think The_Jim & OP are both pretty accurate. Know a lot of NR and eastern guys come out hoping for a mulie. 50 years ago the ranch my father grew up on only had mulies- now it is 90%+ whitetails. Most guys want a mulie buck so bad the forkies get shot. Think Nebraska should continue the mulie...
