Help me choose a 6lb mountain rifle!

Bear and elk were all shot off hand everything else over my backpack or bipod. I'm only 5'11 160lbs I've literally been using a 300wsm for over 10 years. Now when I had my tikka in 300wsm with the garbage stock that wasn't pleasant to shoot, but my custom I can shoot it all day. It kicks no more...

Help me choose a 6lb mountain rifle!

why should 6lbs be non magnum? I use a custom 5lbs 2oz 300wsm and have no issues at all spotting shots. I've taken 3 mountain goats, 2 bears, elk and deer with it now. next build I'm going for 4.5lbs in a 7ss

Spotting scope objective lens: 56mm vs 85mm for backpack hunting?

neither again. 65mm is what I’d choose everytime for a dedicated backpack spotter. More importantly either a swarvo, Leica, or kowa over a vortex

2P Freestanding Tent with best ventilation

Ive been using the MSR hubba hubba for the last 6 years for my sheep hunts and don't have any complaints. I had the copper spur for 1 hunt and got holes in the bottom when the tent was slightly off the foot print. The copper spur has a lot more mesh than the hubba hubba. haven't used the SG tent...

Tuchodi river outfitters sawtooth outfitters in the kootneys would also be good. Also look at Roosevelt elk hunting guides on Vancouver island but i don't know if those are horseback hunts.

    Need New Gaiters

I've used both the kuiu yukons and the stone glaciers. the SG's breathe pretty good I find my legs were always warmer with the kuiu's. the SG's hook that goes onto the lace to hold them down never stays on which is frustrating. These gaiters have been getting great reviews and ill be replacing...

Question about old scope power vs newer scope power.

LMFAO there 100% is aired videos of him missing his shot while using a Leopold scope and him scratching his head on how he missed, pretty sure it was a sheep hunt..... and him using Leupold and CA rifles doesn't have to do with him liking them its called sponsorship. Yes VX5HD is almost the...

Has anyone experienced burn out due to shift work and night shift?

When I first started supervising I did nights for about 6 years straight, I was also in my 20's so it didn't overly bother me. Since 2017 I've been strictly supervising day shift. I wont do nights anymore. I still get burnt out form days but i put up with it

    Would you buy this scope?

can we just get nightforce to revamp the 4-16x42 ATACR make it 4-16x44, change the rotating ocular mag to a throw lever, and have it go on a diet of 5-8oz and have the THLR reticle

Has anyone experienced burn out due to shift work and night shift?

I've been working in the oil and gas industry for 15 years. my rotations usually consist of 24 days on and 10 days off, 13-14 hours a day. the amount of days I work are usually flexible as I usually make my own schedule. there's times when ill crush out 35 days in a row or more and take say 3...

    300 WSM Bullet preferences

H4350 for 165-180 gr bullets. I use 178gr eldx or 180 nosler accubonds H4831sc is also good for 180-200gr bullets but will be slower than H4350 with 180's H100V is also good for 180-200gr. I've also used superformance with 178gr ELDX which gave me 100fps more than H4350. but 64-64.5gr of H4350...
