    Lowa Tibet vs. Kenetrek Stiffness

I’ve not tried Kenetreks, but my Lowa Tibet highs are the most comfortable boots I’ve used. I’d highly recommend them. I’ve not had a single issue with them beating my feet up, and they’ve held up exceptionally well for how bad I’ve treated them.

    Obsidian Merino Pants from FL

I’ve got two pairs I’ve been using hard for the last two years. They are the most comfortable pant I’ve used. I’ve been comfortable in temps upwards of 75, as well as -20 with a good base layer. No durability issues for me so far, hopefully picking up a pair in ash grey pretty soon.

    Rain cover for exo

I’ve been using an Osprey pack cover that I got free with one of my older summer backpacking bags. It’s worked great and kept all my stuff dry during some nasty weather. It’s been very durable, but I also try to be very careful with it.

    Breakfast when truck camping??

I didn’t read this whole thread, so may have been mentioned already. We do ziplock omelettes. You can use egg beaters or a few actual eggs, put em in a freezer gallon ziplock, add whatever cooked meats and veggies, add some cheese. Mix it all up. Then you drop the ziplock into a large pot of...

What sleep pad do you all use?

I just picked up the Big Agnes Q Core SLX insulated in a wide/long. I’ve heard great things about it for side sleepers, so decided to give it a shot.

    Packs for Big Guys

I’m 6’ 2”, 260 pounds, 36 ish inch waist. Stone glacier crux evo fits me pretty well. I have wide shoulders and a wide chest so the shoulder straps do have to flare out a bit, but I haven’t had any issues and it’s comfortable. I’ve heard great things about Exo for bigger dudes. I’m gonna try one...

    Bino Harness

I like the Alaska Guide Creations harnesses. Little bulkier than the other two mentioned but I can fit my range finder, small survival kit, havalon/blades, headlamp, etc all in my bino harness.

    Cheap Stuff that Works

The roll top stuff sacks from Walmart have been great for me. $10 for a 3 pack with a S, M, and L size. I’ve had one set for over 5 years that has gone with on lots of summer backpacking trips. I know it’s been mentioned, but the Costco puffy jackets rock. Also the trekking poles I picked up...

    First real pack

Stone Glacier is another great option, though spendy. If you know anyone in your area that has a Stone Glacier, Exo, Kifaru, MR, etc, definitely see if you can try em out with weight loaded in them. All those brands are great, but packs fit different people differently!
