The camp I guide out of is about 20 miles to the south and I also have many friends up in the Yukon. It was hard to read and I can't imagine what Gjermund is going through. My thoughts are with him.
If you're interested in booking for Saskatchewan/Alberta next year I could recommend a few outfitters for you. Most outfitters in Saskatchewan and Alberta now are reaching the end of their seasons. Shoot me a PM if you want to chat about it.
I'd say try them both if you can. I bought a couple different packs (Kifaru, Stone Glacier, Exo, and tried on a friends Mystery Ranch) and kept the one that felt the best. I ended up keeping the Stone Glacier.
I use a BOB Yak trailer with suspension, not as fancy as the Rambo trailer but cheaper at the shop I used to work at. Not ideal for really heavy loads, but it works for tossing some things into a dry bag and towing around. I still keep my food, water, and denser loads on my back and then keep...
I own an Exped down mat 7 (little thinner) and the Xtherm. I use the Xtherm when I want to travel lighter and use the Exped when I'm more worried about comfort. I find my Exped to be slightly warmer than the Xtherm and also quieter.
Been a while since I've been able to post here, but first half of the guide season is out of the way. After a few light workouts to see where I was at, decided Murph was a good workout to start with to ease into doing heavy weights later in the week. I didn't puke, but some of the dry heaves...
Trying them out is usually the best way to remove any doubt as to whether you're running the right harness. I've now gone through Badlands, FHF, Kuiu, Marsupial, AGC and Sitka myself. The AGC and the new Sitka are the only ones I still have.
A fellow guide of mine runs the Sitka L/XL for his EL 12X50, I run the smaller version for my 10x42 EL's. They sit pretty close to the chest, and probably the thing I like the most about the bino bivy is that there are no gaps for leaves/dirt/and other debris to come through.
Used a set of Yukon rain gear for the last 3 guiding seasons in the Yukon. For the first two years it was bombproof, kept me dry through some downpours and in wet, heavy snow. Last year, it was not so waterproof. First big rain of the season and I was soaked. Kuiu did warranty it, but I...

I really liked the meopta s82, it's a great scope to look through. The one drawback is that it is heavy. I went with a swaro ATX 65 because it was the best scope in a 65 mm lens for my eyes. I also really liked the leica 65, but being my family is originally from Austria I had to go Swaro...
