I'd like more details (which may not be possible). That looks like a Rage NC +P. So not a huge hole for a mech.
I use fixed blades for elk, but of any Rage BH that one would seem to be the one to try on an elk. Shoulder punch? High meat shot?
Congrats on your buddy's bull.
I have no problem hunting with non illuminated ffp Mil-R. It's not ideal below about 6-7x, but I've haven't missed a shooting opportunity yet. IMO, this is the best readily available $1000 rifle scope for dialing.
Before I made the switch to ffp/mil, I have a couple of sfp SHVs and think MOAR...
My primary bow is a Bowtech Revolt X with deadlock. I like trying new bows and really like some of the offerings from other brands. But I'm not sure I'll ever move away from Bowtech with deadlock for my primary hunting bow. It's simple and works really well.
I replaced the cable guard dampener...
Where I hunt in SE Kansas, the best color match we've ever had for bow season is Realtree AP. Then Mossy Oak Treestand for after Thanksgiving.
None of this really matters for hunting deer. I'll buy a new fanatic vest eventually. This color will look better that EVII for daylight grip n grins...
I've been playing with mine in different lighting conditions. It is auto dimming. I can't quite tell if it's based on back lighting or front lighting. Front would make sense to me based on the lenses. It does seem like Leica has some quality issues going on with the CRF-Pro displays. Brightness...
Since daylight hours are typically very long for sheep hunts, viewing light is typically not an issue. So I think the ideal sheep combo would be Swarovski NL 12x42 and the Swarovski STC.
I own neither of these optics (though I plan to). I do own several different choices in Swaro. For my Dall...
I'm also coming from a Sig Kilo 2000 (I still have it). The Sig Kilo 2000 is nearly perfect and part of the reason I'm being ridiculously picky with my new rangefinder choice. I really just wanted a better image. The Leica provides that better image. Now when I go from my Swaro binos there is...

It was obvious my first CRF-Pro had a faulty reticle because I was able to compare it directly to a new CRF-R. Sure enough, Leica customer service decided to replace the unit on their dime. The new replacement CRF-Pro is very nice and today I am testing it using brightness...
I'm happy to report the replacement CRF-Pro is brighter and seems to be working correctly. I'll be able to check angles better later today. In bright sunlight, brightness level 5 is more than adequate against white doors and light colored backgrounds. I'm optimistic I have a winner!
I'm not...
I didn't check for a tee nut. But my rail had a screw where it was supposed to be. This screw was silver. It was magnetic but very weak. My bipod would fall off with just a slight shake of the rifle. I replaced this silver screw with the black screw that came with my Spartan adapter. Problem...
Yeah. The screw supplied didn't have strong enough magnetic properties. I just replaced it with the screw from my Spartan adapter that was on my factory stock.
Last year during my archery mule deer hunt multiple groups of hunters (including locals and outfitted) were using various communication devices to both assist stalkers to bedded bucks and even drive deer out of basins towards clients. It's the most frustrated I've ever been on a public land...
I'd buy a Tikka T3X Lite Stainless in 6.5 PRC and shoot 147 ELD-Ms.
Specifically, since I'll likely do this soon, I'd buy one from Unknown Munitions and have them cut and thread for suppressor prior to sending it to me.
I ended up with the CFR-Pro this year because of the ridiculous EHR delay on both the 2400 and new plastic R model. No programming or changes could be made.
I also tried the Leupold Full Draw prior to paying up for the CFR-Pro. The Leupold Full Draw color hue is bluer than my old Sig.
The CFR...
