My understanding is if apply with 0 points, I cannot buy a preference point during the points only period. Is this incorrect?
I drew last year (2023) with 2 points.
So the options seem to be:
2024: Don't apply. Buy a point later in the year. (No chance to hunt)
2025: Apply and buy point (2...
I mentioned on RokSlide recently that despite the complexity of Montana's draw system , I think it's the best in the west.
I do wish they'd make one change. I wish the 25% of tags set aside for zero point holders was set aside for "any other" point holders. Or completely random. That way us...
Today was my second total eclipse and I got to spend this one at home with my family. Simply an awesome experience. Hearing old men jump up excited during totality along with my 9 year old was so great.
I bought their 16" External Vacuum Sealer during the black Friday sale. It was the least expensive sealer that I could find with an internal cooling fan. I'm happy so far. Would buy from them again.
I play the application game all over the west. I cringe every time I have a new guy ask me about Montana. It takes the longest to explain, but it is very likely the best system going.
Same. Something similar to this.
It works well enough for short hikes where I stabilize the bow with my left hand.
For long hikes I strap the bow to my pack. When actively hunting it's in my hand. For everything in-between I really like the belt hook.
Not saying you naysayers are, but a lot of folks around here are confused about "just another eclipse" versus the first total solar eclipse in Texas since 1878. They think they have seen one before because of certain dimming events like last October's annular or other partial eclipse's.
I get...
I travelled to NE Kansas in 2017. I used the eclipse as an excuse to work on our Kansas deer camp. Totally worth the drive. Super cool experience. We set in a corn field shooting our bows until totality. We then set in bumper to bumper traffic for four hours in the middle of nowhere.
I get 3...
I'm looking for a 3500 bag for my K2 frame. Preferably in Foliage Green to match my frame. But I would also buy Coyote Brown, Ranger Green, or Multi Cam.
Anyone have a bag they don't need?
As stated above, newer Attack pants I size up and then have the waist altered. Stone Glacier deHaviland Lite solves this with their adjustable waist. I still prefer Kuiu Attacks because of noise. I'd wear the SG pants on a rifle hunt in NZ for sure.
Dang! And I have people make fun of my thighs.
These Ariats are closer for me than all the others I've tried: Wrangler, Revtown, Prana, Levi's (athletic), Barbell. I'm wearing 30x32 currently and I do have 1-2" extra at the waist after wearing them for a few days. I don't know if they make a...
To the two posters above, try the M4 or M2 from Ariat. They aren't perfect but fit my waist, hips and thighs without alteration. I wish they offered a similar fit that wasn't boot cut.
I'm almost ready to to update my old "Jeans" thread. I have sprinters thighs and squat and lunge year round...
Swarovski plans to add to their hunting line in 2025? Swaro told you at shot show they would have new hunting products in 2025? Curious about your comment. Thanks.
This cluster of a thread reminded me I was planning to buy a Tikka before the end of the month (rebate) for a 6CM build if they didn't announce a factory 6CM.
Can anyone answer with clarity:
Is Tikka bringing 6CM in 2024?
Is Tikka bringing 7 PRC in 2024?
My airport preference for hunter friendly: Edmonton, Calgary, then Vancouver. Vancouver isn't bad. No first hand experience but I will avoid Toronto and Montreal based on others.
My airline preference is: Air North, WestJet, then Air Canada. With Air North and WestJet both being great.
I went...
Unless I've missed it, I don't see anything from Tikka, Nightforce, or Swaro that was on my SHOT wish list.
Any chance Leupold quietly changed their erector design for the new Mark 4 (ala Maven RS1.2)? On paper that scope looks great.
