Great work on the buck! I wouldn't get too hung op on this, points don't mean big bucks in most units in Colorado anymore... I'd bet hunting the same area 5 times is a bigger factor than 15 points.
Stuck it out to the end through the local road hunter forky slaughter in New Mexico. I was in the does and small bucks all hunt and knew there was a chance of a good one showing up at anytime. Got him on the last morning of the season checking out the does.
Where are you from? 4th season will most likely be very very cold at night, below zero for sure. Days may get warm, or may top out at 0*, never know that time of year.
The earlier the better for muleys. They are more visible, predictable, and vulnerable in their summer pattern. Get harder to kill everyday deeper into September you get.
Shot my 2021 MR-X .45 for the first time two weekends ago. 100 gr BH-209, PB ELR bullet, and 777 primers. Shot lights out. 3 MOA with open sights at 100 and 200 yards. Using the western precision peep/globe with fine crosshairs.
Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe, a Norris, the Hobey Baker, the Calder Trophy in 2020, two all stars, gold medal in world juniors. At 23 years old. He's not perfect but he's pretty freaking good.
I think we are screwed on knowing before Wyoming, but still hoping. If I don't snag my Colorado tag due to creep I would love to burn my Wyoming deer points.
