Go with a custom, a little bit of money difference is nothing when compared to the years you’ll have it. You can pick and choose exactly what you want the rifle to be.
I know tikkas shoot great but if I'm building a rifle I want it the way I want it and not have to basically strip everything...
Good data that tracks with some of my rifles. My 6.5-284 is always cleaned before I get to 150 rounds. After that I have definitely seen pressure spikes because I run it right up there close to max.
Is there any data about a timeframe when the cans that have failed were made? I’m wondering if there happened to be a change in manufacturing, batch of material, etc that maybe correlates to failure?
Edit: sorry, didn’t mean to directly respond to your post with my response.
True, but what does a 10rnd mag have to do with hunting situations? It would seem more realistic to have to eject a mag after 4 rounds and put in a new one.
I totally agree and what I’m saying. If this is billed as “Hunter” shouldn’t it be closer to actually hunting.
Yes, and I plan on...
That’s what I’m going to do, use one of my normal hunting rifles.
I was just saying that if this is truly supposed to be about sharpening shooting skills for hunting, I’m not sure how realistic these matches are. For example, building a shooting position and shooting from it with a 12lb rifle...
I’ve been thinking about trying the skills division at a match that will be close to me this summer. A couple days ago I was talking about it with a friend of mine over a few beers. I was explaining to him what the matches were all about, how they worked, divisions, etc. I was saying the matches...
Agree, SiCo needs to say something. Anyone researching the scythe will undoubtedly see Rokslide pop and probably find this thread or the failure thread since “failure” is in the title.
Many times not saying anything is worse. Who knows though, maybe they are researching the failures and aren’t...
The conventional wisdom is that they don’t have to do anything different because they sell so much already. In my mind I’d think they’d want to sell even more by having a durable product.
If they don’t care about that I guess that says something about their business, idk.
I didn’t assume anything, I’m just looking for a known durable leupold scope to be tested. That’s all, you just happen to be a regular supporter.
Keep killing stuff!
I get it, I really do. As a former lifelong Leupold shooter until a few years ago I felt and defended Leupold on this very forum many times. Since then I’ve had 2 complete failures, both on vx5’s, and Leupold will no longer sit atop any rifle I own. I hate to say that as I feel they offer the...
Yes, many of these discussions could be put to rest if people would put their scopes to a test. Follow as close as possible to Form’s test while videoing. If their scopes are as reliable as they say you’d think they would be more than willing to prove the naysayers wrong.
Have you seen any point where things “even out”? You stated same rifle, same weight, etc.
Say you have a 7lb .223 or 7.5lb 6.5 creed and then an 10.5lb 7prc, does weight start to even the score within reason? I’m talking more about hunting rifle weights, not comp guns.
True but the ratio of people on this site who have a scythe and have had it fail seems high. Rokslide scythe owners is a pretty small % of total scythe owners I would think.
It’s almost like the same theory when the “L” scopes are brought up. They sell a lot of scopes so we’re going to see...
It would be good to have a thread with anyone who’s had a failure with all pertinent info….barrel length, cartridge, rounds through can, etc.
I was about ready to pull the trigger on a scythe but I’m holding off for now.
Edit: I see @BjornF16 staeted one
Exactly, this has been going on for a while.
There was also the Chinese man who flew the drone over Vandenberg Air Force base and was taking photos of the base and its layout.
Did anyone see that they arrested 2 individuals yesterday who flew a drone a little too close to Logan airport? It seems law enforcement used “advanced drone tracking software” to find the individuals controlling the drones.
Amazing that same tech can’t be used on the ones in NJ.
That makes sense but is still not an ideal issue to have. Being ranging binos you don’t/can’t always take the time to get them mounted for a range.
I haven’t read this issue with the br4. Have you?
