I won some of the Argali bags in the cold bow challenge last year. I've also had some ul hiker bags from ebay and they were ok for the price.
If going for quality and lightweight I'd go Argali.
Good luck on the hunt, Post updates!
Never been, but do put in for the archery.
I believe there is a NM Ibex FB group
I've seen posts on here and FB about the declining numbers. Anyone have any data or anything to share in regards to that or is it just hunter experience?
Agree!
There are 430+ reactors operating around the world, 93 in the US most of which have been around quite a while(40 plus years). The nuclear industry operates a lot differently than other industries, they share information with other plants and mitigate any risk. After Fukushima, they all...
In earlier years I had 25/40/50, but this past season I had my 3 pin slider set 20/30/40 for grouse while elk hunting(and currently hunting turkeys) But If it weren't for shooting birds I would do 25/40/50.
I miss having the 50 yd pin so I recently ordered a 4th pin to try, but I think I'm...
V3X 29/70
New to try this year:
75 mods
4mm Storm arrows
A fourth .010 pin on the Mountain Ascent slider.(already know I should have stuck with .019)
IW 125grn buff s series
Also thinking about trying the Hamskea arrow rest. The QAD/mathews IMX seems a little flemsy.
Don't usually run a bar...
Dropped my ole DXT from a treestand once, no issues, also had a dent in the cam from an unknown event, no issues
Just make sure the ding in the cam doesn't have a sharp edge that could cut or fray the string.
Shoot cautiously for a few shots....
I got to my deer camp one weekend on a Thursday...
If I need navigation I'll sometimes copy trailhead waypoints from Onx to Google maps to navigate. I leave both maps open and sometimes toggle between them both to mark waypoints on Onx and look at private/public boundaries while keeping the google on to make sure I don't miss turns.
Don't have...
I'd like to know once you recieve the sight, if the housing is actually smaller or just the fiber?
Looking at the link it looks like the housing may be the same.
I recently had an experience ordering a .010 pin to try out on my archery sight to find the housing the same size as the .019 sight...
Me and the wife found it harder to focus the reticle and target and got better groups with the fiber. I agree, it does cover more of the target than I like.
I considered trying to drill or having someone capable of drilling out a small enough hole in the cross hair to insert an .019 fiber from...
I wanted to like the crosshairs, but after shooting both crosshairs and the fiber optic, the fiber is the way to go. It would be nice if they could add a second fiber similar to an archery sight for a second yardage. That is why I wanted the crosshair.
They're not going to help if the creek is above your short hiking boot and you have more than a quick step. They are nicer than rubber boots on the cold mornings with wet dew and tall grass, followed by a warm-up. As soon as the dew burns off I can pull them off and a short hiking boot is a...
If you want to hunt everything you have to apply for everything.
Certainly, Wyoming MSG is a 0% game for most, but at least other states that are in the %0.1 range for sheep etc usually have different species that combined make it worth applying for, UT comes to mind. And if you want to hunt...
I have fixed closest to me, usually three, then a small game head, then a couple mechs. A couple extra arrows in pack with small game heads on and a couple extra broadheads stowed away.
It gets worse when you throw in a deer tag too. I had all three last year, but all three only overlapped for one unit, even though individually they are each good for multiple units...
Agree, that fact is probably adding to the decline.
We had a great time in MT in 2021, but haven't been back cause it's harder to plan with there 60% draw at 0 point and 0% draw at 1 point. I don't want to waste money buying pp just to guarantee draw at 3pts. CO is easier to plan, cheaper...
