Gohunt is going to be the easiest way to research the information you're looking for. You can easily find a list available units for your priority species, (lets say otc elk)then click thru those units, toggling between mule deer and elk tabs to see if the muley takes points or not. I do...
The problem I had on lighterpack was when I duplicated a list. The original list would change when I changed things on the new duplicate list like they were linked together.
I just had to start any new list from scratch.
I don't even see how to duplicate any more so maybe they just removed it.
Any luck yuet? I'm heading that way for work in Dec-Jan as well. Not sure how many days I'll get to hunt. I'd really like to know if any exist in unit 31 since that's closer to where I'll be working. If nothing else I'll get some hiking in...
I don't think 35lb is too far out of reach. I'm at 36.3 and could cut 3lbs by leaving my jetboil and switching boots. I could shave down my kill kit a little too.
36.35 total including EVERYTHING with bow, pack, harness and worn clothes
I'm at 26.5 without bino harness or clothes, but includes bow.
20.1 lbs. pack only without a weapon(2lbs less if I leave jetboil)
includes 1L water, 1day food, jetboil, 43x pistol

I'm on the same hunt for another gun for our family. I'm pretty sure I'm settled on the Ruger American Ranch gen 2.
We already have a Savage Axis and I don't like the safety or the magazine that I often find is not fully engaged. Plus, the Ruger is threaded and I have a suppressor in the works.
I found a decent 5x5 bull in MT during archery, but I couldn't tell if it had been hit by a hunter or killed by something else. It was pretty consumed by bears(potentially griz) and made for an extremely nervous recovery of the antlers with just me and my 13yo daughter as lookout. It almost...
Are you concerned it spoiled in the few hours or over the buzzards getting at it?
I'd just cut around where they picked at it. It didn't spoil in a few hours.
I had hogs eat the front shoulder off a doe I shot within an hour or two of shooting her. She went down just out of sight in some...
This is especially annoying when tapping the button in the lower right to get back onto the cursor. Seems like 50% the time I hit it, it just opens property information instead of tapping the button.
Other wishlist:
Make a library with many more waypoint Icons. and have it where I can select...
Awesome buck! glad you got him. I wouldn't beat myself up about how it ended, that's just nature, scavengers got to eat too. Sounds like you went above what most would do to make the recovery.
I guess it really depends on how many arteries it's possible to hit when slinging one outside the...
Some people have more money than time. I'm not those people, lol. But knowing how much time I spend researching and applying I can see the value for some people. I get most of my research done on the clock at work. I'd hate to have to spend my free time stuck on a computer.
I'm the opposite.
My wife worked for several years including the baby years, but decided to stay home and homeschool our dyslexic youngest when he was around 7. Since she quit, I have no regrets. I only regret her not staying home sooner.
The Gulf Coast is nice if you're already...
This is not great evidence of a narrow two blade failing. He missed the vitals. Would another 1/2" of cut mean this buck doesn't live 36 hours. I don't think so.
I'll take the improved accuracy and penetration of a narrow two blade over a 3 blade or wider head. I've put a 7/8" stinger killer...
Agree, It just didn't hit the spot.
I shot one quartering away once and hit too far forward, mainly front shoulder. Put dogs on him, ran him a mile and dogs came back. Handler said he ain't dead. A youth hunter shot him a few weeks later. Still had a pretty nasty wound in that front...
I'd think so. You're only talking 10° less, plus entire puffy set, especially the pro. I wouldn't hesitate to try it. I plan to add a 40° quilt at some point to cut weight and plan to use with just ultra down jacket for similar temps.
You might consider goose feet down socks. I always have...
