    DIY Hawaii axis deer hunt

Yeah I think it’s down. I saw the harvest numbers the week I was there for the state hunt this April, and it wasn’t much considering the number of hunters.

    The Rokslide Stock Traders Thread

I’m almost 100% in MM fund. Been watching the market frustrate everyone for the last few months, and it’s still frustrating to me too, but I’m just sitting on the sidelines making about 5%. It seems like the market simply has to crash soon. It’s hard to believe it hasn’t already, but it would...

First and Last Rifle - New Hunter

Another vote for the Tikka in 6.5 CM. No worries, no fuss, works for everything . If you ever feel like you want more velocity, the Tikka chamber is very accommodating for reloads, so you can easily get another 200 fps with the same bullet over factory. So you are very near factory 6.5 PRC...

    The One Gun Hunter

One rifle for me — Tikka T3X Superlite in 6.5 CM with SWFA 3-9 on top. It gets beat up in the mountains here, but it does everything I need it to perfectly. If I wind up making the NZ trip happen next year I won’t hesitate to use it for (hopefully) red stag and tahr.

IPhone 15 or In reach ....

Yeah my understanding of the new iPhone capability is it does not have satellite text capability. So that salesman is selling you a line of BS. It's emergency only, and the message goes to emergency services. Only thing that's not clear to me is whether it goes direct to your local emergency...

Mtn Tough Gym Foundation - Best Slam/Wall ball subs with kettlebells, dumbbells or cable?

Seems like KB swings to all the way overhead are basically the same movement patterns as slam balls. You can even accelerate the downswing like I do sometimes if I’m trying to speed up a set of KB swings.

    High fence “private game preserve”!?

I’ll never understand that kind of thing. What’s the attraction if there’s no sport in it?

    Tricer Gear?

Yep put mine on the scale, also came in at 4.3 oz.

    Ultralight Tripod Options

Aziak with the long center column, Tricer head, and Kowa 554 with an Aziak arca plate is only 3 lb 6 oz and 14 oz lighter than just my old tripod and head setup!

    Tricer Gear?

4.5 oz according to their site. I just got mine a few days ago, haven’t had it out yet but it’s incredibly light and solid.

    New Record! Colorado elk…

Yikes. Maybe it's part of a CO anti-hunting crowd reverse psychology master plan, make it the only place that's so accessible to NRs that it's overwhelmed and miserable for anyone that tries.

    Celebration of Life!

So long, good boy. 13 years of service to a loving family, a life well lived!

    Ultralight Tripod Options

Same as my setup, should cut about 2 and a half pounds from my tripod setup alone, and about 3 and three-quarter pounds from my previous tripod + spotter combo.

    Feelings during The Hunt

    Pretty much the same.

    Kowa 554 Case

I’m in the same boat. Contacted vortex to try to see if they still make the neoprene cases for the baby Razors, they said they don’t. But they also just released a new one this week, so maybe that’s changed. I saw a guy said he just wrapped his in Coban, which is really not a bad idea.

    Ultralight Tripod Options

I took advantage, pulled the trigger on the Aziak today. So I’ll be running the Aziak tripod and Tricer head combo with my Kowa 554 and Kowa 10.5x44s.

    Ultralight Tripod Options

Tricer has a sale going on, picked up the LP head yesterday for 20% off. Haven’t decided which tripod yet though. I’m a little gun shy on the Aoka now after looking through my buddy’s Swaro spotter on a much sturdier tripod setup than it sounds like the Aoka is. It was breezy, not crazy wind...

Kowa binocular experience. How are they?

Take this FWIW, not a comprehensive comparison. That said, my buddy had his NL Pure 10x42s at the range this weekend. I put them side-by-side against my Kowa 10.5x44s looking at our bullet holes on a paper target at 100 yards. I could not tell a difference in clarity or ability to discern the...

    Is a meat grinder necessary?

Just used the Smokehouse Chef grinder attachment for first time this weekend. Did a great job, and compared side by side with the Kitchenaid brand grinder attachment it makes the Kitchenaid one look like a cheap toy.
