Absolutely love my FL 150 wick setups. I wear for almost any temp. Last week it was 40 mornings and 75 afternoons and I was fine. Not too hot and just enough warmth in the morning. I’ve worn them down to about 20deg with pants and a jacket and been good.
I have up to 400 wt tops and bottoms...
Yup. About 4 layers of matte clear coat.
On my last stockys I even through a bit of thick texture paint under the forend and grip. Then sponge and clear coat. Turned out well and added just enough grip.
Wow a tad surprised the 195s aren't coming out a bit quicker in the PRC.
My 23” WSM was shooting them at 2775fps based on my old notes.
I assumed the longer neck and OAL of PRC would support more than that in a LA.
It does. At least on last two I bought.
Just ran the total numbers locally and would be about $675 out the door post discounts for the SS.
And folks say tikkas aren’t a good deal and are all expensive now…..not true.
12x42 NLs have hit the classifieds at 2600 in recent weeks. Concur they aren’t twice as good. Also don’t think they are 50% better either….but for the weight savings and ergos at a $800 premium it’s more interesting.
I have this gun in 6.5C. Got a good deal too.
IMO tikka for same price is better. Even with a steel barrel it’s equal weight and shoots as good. Action smoothness is difference.
They are thin limbsaver and work well. I shot the same stock on a 7wsm today that weighs 5.7lbs naked and 9lbs ready to hunt. It does it job.
It won’t be as good as a aftermarket airtech but for a 6.5c it’s all you need.
I sold it a while back.
It’s tough to notice a huge difference in optical quality IMO. I think the field of view was more on the swaro 25-50.
I felt the factory eyepiece was easier to get a good view behind (eye relief is tighter on swaro).
I have a swaro 20-60 now and it is similar to the...
I’ve compared a Scythe to a DD STi (wolf hunter with bigger bore) and thought the STi was a tad quieter. Fairly confident the wolf hunter on a smaller bore cartridge would be even better.
If I ever go 6mm (-) it’s my next purchase.
I compared extensively.
IMO only difference was size and weight. I upgraded but based on that.
This was 12x50 vs 12x42 btw. Suspect the 10x to be similar with a bit less weight difference.
I think best hunting round for supers is 110g Barnes black tipped.

Out of a 16” barrel with handloads can get about 2500fps.
I’d argue a bit more recoil reduction and a bit more noise.
I’m running it flat cap for hunting but will throw the brake or the large omega brake for range time.
Have had a fenix 6 for a few years. Can’t ever imagine being with a different watch. Its awesome and battery life is amazing.
Talks to many of my other garmin devices. Apps fine. Can golf with it. Don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
I’ve had 6k 8x32 for about 18 months now. I don’t notice the blue tint on the 32mm as much as the 42 but I’m sure it’s there.
I personally like the weight. They are half pound lighter than anything else I’ve used and carry nicely. They will never be my primary glassing source to find game on a...
