I just put one on a rifle and have been a fan. I had Mil and MOA versions of the PR1. The mil was a tad busy. But the MOA is a really good FFP reticle in a 4x erector. I can still see center dot zoomed out at 4.5 and it isn’t crazy thick at 18. I like the illum level reticle too and appears to...
Yes they cover return shipping. Another note. I happened to drop mine in the tip the day I got it (slipped out of the sheath), and asked if they could fix it. Came back straight when they sharpened it. Pretty happy about that too.
One other interesting thought. Some of the higher end steel knives are a PIA to sharpen. I went with a BM because for $5 in shipping they will sharpen it after every hunt each year. Took advantage of it this year and was great. Took 9 days.
Alright. Now I’m just confused. I’m also wanting a lite chassis for comps/hunting.
So googled the ones above and didn’t see any tikka inlets…..you sure your on the right forum? ;)
I’m a fan of XLR to be honest. Not a bad deal on sale either and I think lighter still.
I leave kestrel in my backpack pocket or hanging. As long as it’s on and paired it’s good. I believe the process goes, range to kestrel, kestrel pushes dope back to sig (don’t quote me there though).
I can’t recall about the wind but I do think so.
Fwiw I am using the 6k 8x30s. Love em.
I’ll add using the onboard sensors on the sig, my DA is usually 500’ or so off the kestrel but it hasn’t resulted in a miss in the distances I shoot and I like it at a backup.
My unit won’t range past 800 without being paired to kestrel.
Yes. Shot a comp with it out to 900 yds and used a good amount since then. It can pull live or you can use local or input values. I use live and have had good success.
Maybe said another way, the sig will mirror what’s on the kestrel.
NRL hunter is a good time. The one I did this year the targets for most were small and tough to find let alone range and hit.
The folks cleaning up those stages are marksmen IMO. The timer is a stressor to set up a semi stable position and get a shot off…especially on up to 4 targets.
If I was going to pay $1k for both I might have trouble passing up the Kowa to be honest.
That said, I’ve seen a few of the razors go on here for closer to $700. That makes it a tougher decision for sure.
That Kowa deal is sweet. But they are closing them out in an attempt to get more folks...
I just looked back on a review/comparison I did on them in 2019 on rokslide and I had them then at 28oz. Not including arca.
Very close to new razor weight inclusive of arca. Fwiw tricer arca plate is .7oz or so if I recall (one of lighter ones).
BL: the old Kowa 553 and newer razor are very...
Just make sure the review you are watching is on the old 553 and not the new 55a Kowa. The old one is close to that weight. The new one a bit more.
I personally like my mini razor more than the 553 but feel I’m on the minority there. The center picture on the Kowa is great and I prefer the dual...
Snag one. Outside of mini actions tough to find a lighter LA/SA combo when you consider the solid bottom “metal” that comes with it and fact it by far the lightest on market…and it’s pretty good too.
The modularity of tikka is pretty sweet.
