I thought it might have been in this post but I didn’t find it. If anyone finds the adjustment on the parallax to be really tight, wrap the turret with a protective tape or something and then rotate it back and for with some adjustable pliers a few times. I did that on mine and it freed up...
Glad I found this! Did you see a noticeable difference in the bolt lift. I’ve got a ridgeline in 300 prc and the rifle has stabilized really and and shoots 1/2 moa groups regularly. The bolt lift is a real buzz kill though. I’m building a new rifle in the spring on a tikka platform but I’m gonna...
Anybody in the central Oregon area (Bend, Redmond, Prineville) have a chronograph they’d be willing to let me borrow or rent from them for a day? I know I can get one through rent outdoor gear, but I wanted to check here. The budget doesn’t permit the addition of a chronograph at this point, but...
Anybody happen to see this article before it was taken down? It popped up in my google feed and when I clicked on it, it was gone from their site. Weird. I don’t really take field and stream seriously, but I was curious what the hell happened with this.
If you can get a hookup with a boat and crab pots, I’d highly recommend the crabbing and fishing in the puget sound. I worked up there for a few months and we slayed the crab. Good luck with the transplant! I know the hospitals up there are pretty stellar.
I think go hunt needs to remove that stat from their filtering. I’ve never once used that as a metric to determine where I was going to hunt. I would put the percentage of hunters willing to accurately report harvest data lower than the odds of getting struck by lightning.
I just drove through eastern Wyoming. Based on the amount of antelope I’ve seen there and the availability of tags, I’d recommend looking for a unit on gohunt with good draw odds and going. You’re gonna find antelope if you have a tag.
I really want to go with gohunt maps and have been trying, but I don’t know if it’s because I used onX first or that their map layers and hatches are better and I prefer onX. Gohunt has developed some awesome tools though and I’m pretty loyal to gohunt so I’m gonna continue to use them.
I sold mine recently, but I think there’s been quite a few on here recently. It should sell eventually, but it’s not the most popular on here because there have been some horror stories with the VX-5 that have been talked about on here. I’d try one of the leupold optics groups on FB too.
Got everything in! Big upgrade for the Christensen 300 prc. In addition to the XLR element mg, I’m going with the maven RS1.2. Happy with how this came out. XLR makes great stuff.
Run though the classifieds on this forum and you can pick up some great gear at a steep discount. Like the post above says blackovis has some decent merino. I’d steer away from wasting your money on good rain gear unless your hunting the coast.
