More than meets the eye...
A few of us have had these bows for quite some time now - it's been tough keeping the secret at bay and I am enthused, excited to see some of the changes with the new bows.
The grip is easily removeable, mine is off. What remains is a rubber adhesive with a vertical...
I have found that point weight greater than 150 grains usually leads to difficulty tuning and getting broadheads to group with field points. Usually 150 grains is the magic number for all of my best shooting setups over the years. Much over that and things tend to go downhill quickly. Don't get...
I have tested in steep terrain and found it is a bit more challenging to "see and aim" 12 inches low on a steep downhill shot. However, the physics still work and you can actually get more range with your trick pin on steep angled shots.
If you get into a situation that you're not confident...
Exactly... that "other pin" location would change at each distance. Up close it may not even be on the animal. Beauty of the trick is you always hold the same point and get a lethal impact.
I've killed several more elk since writing this article and have been 100% on shot opportunities.
My...
I spent some time behind the Carbon Defiant 34 last September and was really impressed with the bow. Instantly could feel the axle to axle difference at full draw relative to my Carbon Spyder. It made me realize I had been tilting my head down to the string right away. The new module system is...

We had the GPS chip and were aware of the access issues but it was more difficult than expected. Some of the roads that appeared to be "county roads were not. In the end, wanting to shoot 12 goats in 4 days we paid a reasonable fee for access and tagged out. Not ideal, but we paid the equivalent...
Nosler trophy grade with Accubond 140s or 160s would be the best bet for good accuracy. The 140s will probably shoot best. That seems to be the sweet spot for easy accuracy with the stw.
I should also qualify the previous... That's what I was told by one of his personal acquaintances, but I did not discuss the Solid business with him last time I saw him. Steve can correct me if I'm wrong.
That's fine. My point was that there are a number of places to buy it besides from steve. He sold the broadhead design to the archery group (elite archery et. al.) so he's just a dealer like any other shop now - albeit a lot more familiar with it.
Thanks to wapiti bob I have been shooting 175grain Accubond long range bullets out of mine. They're hard to find right now. I'm using 77 grains of h1000 and am pushing them out at 3225 fps. Killed an antelope doe last weekend at 568 yards, DRT. Lighting the fire with fed 215 match grade primers...
Steve at S and S is a great guy, and only a one man shop bud. I'm sure he's out hunting and not ignoring your calls. There are a number of places to get solid broadheads. Steve designed them, and I've shot them. They're amazing.
They are shooting really well out of my STW. I have yet to send one into a live critter, but I'll report back soon. Thanks to the guys that got me hooked up. I'm set for the next couple years!
