    FMJ Dilema

Ok, so I'm getting ready to buy new arrows for this fall. I have been shooting Easton FMJ's 400's for a few years now and like them a lot but I want to switch to 340's. My question is, is it worth the money to move up to the Injexion FMJ's? I like the small diameter, but then I will be replacing...

    Colorado Unit 40

So I decided to burn my points and pull a CO Unit 40 archery tag. I know there are private land issues, but I think its gonna be a great hunt. Does anyone have any experience archery hunting this unit? I'd love to bounce a couple ideas I have off of someone that has been there in September.

Hoyt Carbon Spyder Turbo...I'm in love!!!

I have the Vector 32 and got my Carbon Spyder Turbo ZT about a month ago. The new turbo cam is stiff up front like the RKT cam, but seems to pull a little harder than the RKT. The turbo peaks later in the cycle than the RKT and has a steeper drop into the valley. The valley is a bit shorter, but...

    Nevada Shed Hunting

The sources printing the information on the law are media sources right now. Believe me, if the law were in effect, the NDOW would have it shown loud and clear on their website. This is not a small problem, when the regulations go into effect, they wont be tucked away where you have to dig them...

    Nevada Shed Hunting

According to a recent email from the NDOW law enforcement that was posted on another site, the law is not in place at this time. You are still free to pick up sheds year round. Here is a copy of the email the individual received: I believe I remember you from your time at the State Park at...

    Nevada suggestions

I drew my NV archery tag with 4 points, so it can happen anytime. I had a fantastic hunt, lots of bulls and little to no competition. Pick a unit and apply, but watch the hunt dates on all the hunts for that unit as has been mentioned, lot of cow hunters in some units at the same time or just...

    TinesUp adapter question

It depends on how much control you have over your camera, I have a Canon and have to adjust the shutter and Aperture on most pics. If I shoot in auto, the pictures usually come out too dark.

    West elk wilderness success?

What part of the West Elk are you headed? I was just there hunting deer this past week and found quite a few elk. No bugles, but most of the cows had bulls in with them. The elk were much more active than the deer, that's for sure! I noticed quite a few wallows starting to be used in a couple...

    Bikini Frame Problems

I went on my morning hike this morning with my nomad/bikini. I only had about 50 pounds in it, this is the most weight I have put in it so far. The pack carried great but seemed to be hanging to the left, probably from my loading the pack. When I got back to the trailhead and looked over my pack...

    Leica or Leupold range finder?

I just got my Leica 1000-R after losing my CRF 900 in Idaho last year. Cameraland has demo models that can save you a little bit of money. Loving the 1000 already, had it out shooting this weekend. Never had my Leica fail me yet (until I dropped it in a downfall jungle and couldn't find it, they...

Good to hear, thanks for the feedback. I look forward to trying a pair of these out.

    Early Season-Cevedale?

I'm needing to get a new pair of boots for early season hunts. I have been reviewing a few different ones, and am leaning toward the Lathrop and Sons Cevedale or maybe trying Hanwag Cheyenne or Mountain Light. For those that have had a chance to try the Cevedale, how do you think they would...

    Icon or Nomad

I have the 2012 Icon and I just used my Nomad for the first trip this weekend. I liked the Icon, but it was not very comfortable for me, the hip belt made me very sore on my hips after a few days with 60-70 lbs. After using the nomad this weekend, I can say I like the Kifaru frame and suspension...

Anyone know how many points it takes to draw a Nevada jaw bridge tag?

I had a great hunt. Saw a lot of elk and looked at a lot of bulls. There were a lot of 300" type bulls with some bigger. Its a really fun hunt, not much pressure at all. There was elk in almost every area I looked in, made deciding on one area to hunt a problem, but a good problem to have. I...

Anyone know how many points it takes to draw a Nevada jaw bridge tag?

Umpqua is correct, with the bonus point system you can potentially draw anytime, but the odds get better each year. I drew the Jarbidge archery tag with 4 points in 2011, but in talking with other hunters that year, most had 8+ points when they drew the tag.

    SE Idaho Motor Vehicle Restrictions

Thank you for the help, looks like I will need to pick up the Forest Service maps of the area. I have a few 7.5 Topos of some of those areas that my dad has from a few years ago, but not one that shows Forest Service trails. Thanks for the advice on the maps and the trail markings, that will...

    SE Idaho Motor Vehicle Restrictions

I will be hunting OTC for deer this fall in SE Idaho, my question for those of you that have hunted there is, how strongly are the motor vehicle restrictions enforced? I am looking at a few spots to hunt in 66, 76, 75, and 77 and love the idea of the restrictions, I'm just afraid I'll run into a...

    Elk Hunting Books

If you found Elk Ecology and Management for $20 you got a deal, mine was like $80 just after it came out, or maybe I should have looked harder. If you like this kind of book search for The Elk of North America by Olaus J Murie, he was considered one of the first authorities on elk. Elk Country...
